Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

They are combined TAC/TVR. We can't really call them SCCA events since we run under private insurance, but we conform to SCCA rules and classes and TVR SCCA supports the series to crown it's regional champions. How's that for toeing the line

I assume this is the same insurance as in the past, so a drivers license is required for all drivers, correct? So, unlike an SCCA event, 15 year olds with a permit cannot drive.

This bit me with both of my sons, so I'm just trying to be clear in case there is someone out there with a permitted driver who might be considering coming up to a TAC/TVR event.

Rod, you are correct. Additionally, passengers must be licensed drivers.

IIRC, you have to be a member of TVR or TAC to qualify for their championship this year.

If we're keeping score...regarding autocross cars it is Rod 4, Sam 0. However I don't think Sam is playing in this particular game and I would really like to lower my score by 1 anyway

And from their forum it appears the agenda for TAC/TVR's thursday meeting will include discussing moving to our method of allowing any SCCA member run for points in their events.

I can't afford to play that game.

That's interesting. Now the first points event is the day of the best day of racing at Barber.
