Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

My car is not eligable for any street tire class. Will there be a Tire Class pax multiplier
.975 or will only the cars eligable for one of the street tire classes be competing for the PAX payment?

All classes are eligible for the PAX competition...tires don't matter as far as that goes. I think the question is really will we be using a "tire" multiplier to soften the PAX for cars that run streets in r-comp eligible classes. We haven't done that before (in the last few years at least), but I don't know the 2013 plans. 'Tis a good question...

No, we won't be running any additional PAXs other than the standard SCCA PAXs.

But any competitor that is an SCCA member will be eligible for the PAX and RAW payments.

If you don't like your PAX, change classes.

As Mark said, we will NOT be running a Street Tire PAX multiplier. This is a random number generated and as of now SCCA national has not adopted this as a national standard. Even more importantly, we have seen that our location is not conducive to favoring r-comps vs street tires. John Waight in a CSP car, which most consider our "always fast guy" has equaled or bettered his time on Street Tires vs Rcomps on the same day. So with that in mind, just because you are on a Street Tire doesn't mean that you should get a padded time versus someone in your same class on Rcomps.

I also feel that you might be confused with the TIRE CLASS. This class is for cars that are NOT a ST class but are running Street Tires. Basically ALL the Rcomp/Race tire classes are eligible to run in the TIRE class, utilizing a 140 treadwear tire, and compete against all other classes. Basically you could take an AMod car, running a 1.00 PAX and Street Tires, and compete against a HS car, running a .804 PAX and Street Tires, and see who would win. This should be a "PAX guys" wet dream, IMO. Now, when you add Money- Event championship into this, I understand that the GS guy, that has a .804 PAX and is running Rcomps in his regular class, in most people's eyes, would have an advantage. However, the PAX game is set up from National numbers, the fact that we even use it in the local regions is a different topic, for a different thread. The level of "build" on a Stock Class car, and driver, in a National Event, is WAY beyond anything we typically see at a local/regional level.

As Rod has said, ALL SCCA classes are eligible for PAX times. The 2013 Pax multiplier is located here and you can find what your PAX would be.
