Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

  • 2013 Solo update

Pending the destruction of the world, according to the Mayans and the press, we will move forward with the Solo program in 2013. As I said yesterday, Mark and I will continue to be the Solo Chairpersons. Because we have both taken on more responsibility in the club, we are looking to have more involvement from our club members in the running of Events.

As the saying goes, "these events don't run themselves." We have been working hard the past two years to make sure that Solo continued to grow in our region. Unfortunately, we have only seen the same faces stepping up to help out at our events. So it is time for new faces to start helping.

Mark and I are going to assume a more managerial role in 2013, to have more diversity in the events, which will hopefully spark better events, and a brighter future for our club.

In 2013 each event will have an Event Chairperson. Mark and I will be there to guide the Event Chair, answer any questions, and make sure things are still getting done. If you have ever thought, "man, I could definitely run an event better then those fools" this is your chance. Mark and I will still be setting the schedule, keeping contacts with Pelham Amphitheater, filing the paperwork with National, etc; we are simply handing over the reigns of the event to those that want to see if they have what it takes.

We will also be assigning a new person to the position of Classing/Technical Director. This person will be the go-to person for anyone who has a question about the Technicalities of running in a certain class, or anyone who has a classing question. This person will need to be someone who is readily available at events, a regular on the forum and facebook, and up-to-date on the FastTrack printed every month.

The Novice Director will continue to be Sara Tongsuvone. The new position of Director of Tech Inspection will be Heath Patterson.

If you are interested in the Event Chair position or the Classing/Technical Director, please contact Mark Kilgore or myself.

I'd like to nominate Rod for the classing chairperson.

Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.

The first response in this thread is to blindside someone with a nomination. Looks like it's heading downhill pretty fast

I guess that means I need to nominate Cholewa as event chair for all the odd-numbered points events...

        I'm down with that.

I still think we need a poster or something that we can hang on the side of the trailer that has the base classes for cars and the basic - upgrade this get bumped to that.

I don't keep up with any of that, and I don't think my other registrars do either, so we're almost always at a loss for classing questions.

I'm fairly familiar ... but registrars shouldn't be classing people. It really cramps the registration line.

I'm curious...what will the specific roles of the Event Chairperson actually be? Will they be the ones in charge of making sure there's someone to design/setup a course? Will they be responsible for assuring all required positions (i.e. on-site registration, safety stewards, tech inspectors etc.) are filled for their respective events?

I like trying my hand as a leader from time to time, but always want to know what I'm getting into before throwing myself out there

Yes to all of those questions. The Event Chair will be responsible for:

                - Recruiting event positions: setup, tech, waivers, T&S, safety stewards, registration
                - being on site day of the event at 6:30 to start setting up and directing others
                - determine run groups
                - give the morning intro talk outlining the days plans
                - # of runs throughout the day
                - lunch break length
                - clean up
                - trophy presentations

That's about it. And honestly half of what's listed will take care of itself or is pretty standard stuff.

We will probably get a list together before the season of who will be designing the courses on which events so that will be taken care of.
