Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

That's been happening a lot, lately, but, as I've been told, numerous times, "Pick any weekend, and there's a conflict, somewhere."

I'm actually going to be in town for a totally separate event (there's a Gun Show in down town B'ham, my father-in-law will have a table there with some friends of his)... so I figured I might as well tow the car down and come play with our western neighbors on Sunday, and FINALLY check out the "new" (to me... it's been a while, ok?) site

If you're at the gun show, come say hi. Chances are I'll be wearing some SCCA gear... hell, that's half my wardrobe by now.

At this time it looks like Peter St.Pierre will also be making the drive Sunday morning to co-drive. Looking forward to it!

EDIT: Do y'all have a schedule of events anywhere? Other than the "site opens at 7:00" on the registration page, I can't find any "where I need to be and when" info. Maybe I'm just missing it?

                  EDIT#2: Derp, found it:

                    Daily Schedule
                    7:00am - Gates open!
                    7:30-9:00am - Registration
                    After 9:00am - late registration, $5 additional
                    8:00-9:00am - Tech Inspection
                    9:00am - Devotional
9:15am - Novice meeting and directed course walk
                    9:30am - Drivers meeting
                    10:00am - First car off!
~4:00pm - course clean up and trophy presentation
As with all things, this is a rough schedule and is likely to change the day of an event. We try our hardest to keep within the schedule, but we can't always account for certain set backs.

It's on the Autocross section of our main website. Glad to hear you guys are coming over!!! Drive safe.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Do y'all do a lunch break? And are there vendors near by? Or should I plan on having food on hand?

depending on the amount of run groups we do lunch for 2, 3+ take lunch during your break. Also there is tons of food right there, unfortunately since the event is on a sunday there will be no chick fil-a, but, mcdonalds, wendys, whataburger, taco bell, and burger king are a stones throw away.
