Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

  • Please be prepared

I want to make sure that everyone is aware that this weekend is looking like it will be a very hot weekend. Temperatures are expected to be in the very high 90's and possibly getting to 104 to 105 degrees F. We will be on asphalt all weekend long.

As a club we have made an effort in the past to provide waters to our participants as a service. Obviously we don't want anyone feeling dehydrated and pushing a vehicle to its limits of adhesion while we are all standing around, so this is as much for you as it is for the rest of us. However, we can only do so much. We are generally buying upwards of 10 cases of water for a weekend, this is a cost we are willing to pay, but I feel like we will be going through our normal supply very quickly.

As a general statement I would like to ask that all those planning to come out this weekend look to hydrate a few days in advance. Start drinking water Thursday and continue to do so throughout the weekend. With a little planning you can keep your body at peak condition and not have to rely on trying to "catch up" to the heat on Sat and Sun. By that time, you are really just fighting a losing battle.

Be sure to bring your own water, and shade, and whatever else you feel that you need to keep cool. It is your responsibility to take care of yourself, and we will do all we can to provide waters for those that are there and needing it. But don't count on us to provide all your waters and cooling needs for you.

    Thanks so much.

Another suggestion for keeping cool is the throw a few wet towels in your personal cooler. Placing it on the back of your neck can really lower your core body temp.

Having plenty of shade will also be crucial for this event. I think I have a spare easy up that I can try to bring and maybe set up in grid for additional shade. If anyone has easy ups, def bring them if possible.

The towel in the cooler trick is also one of my favorites for keeping cool.

Wet towel around your neck is amazingly effective at keeping you cool.

Does anyone have a very big easy up to put over the site?

Key part of John's post is hydrating days in advance. Sunscreen if you don't want chunks cut off your face and arms in a few years. Other than that, your body is pretty efficient.

Wear a hat and light colors as well.

We should have a few extra ez-ups in the trailer that we can set up around grid to keep everyone cool.

Stay away from caffeinated beverages and sugary junk as well. Stick with water, don't go out drinking friday and come prepared to sweat your ass off.

                Agreed

For those that choose to use the Gatorade type of drinks, try to make 1 part Gatorade, and two parts water... The nutrients in those drinks will not work without the proper amount of real water. I made that mistake once, and it put an absolute hurting on me.

For lunch, try to find potassium rich foods to reduce the chance of cramping (Left foot brakers know what I'm talking about). Preferably hydrated fruits like kiwi and the such.

It's going to be a hot day with no humidity so we'll all dehydrate rather quickly.

Woohoo! I test drove an Abarth and have been wondering when we'd see one at an autocross.

Abarth 500? What's the possibility of it "tumping" over?

Its SCCA legal, they updated the classes.

Not that it answers your question. But it takes a little off of us.

Is the 500 still a no-go and just the Abarth that is allowed?

Abarth is legal for GS and not yet classified for anything else that I know of.

Regular 500 remains not allowed in stock form. It is allowed in STF only if suspension mods have been made which result in the height being less than the track width

Also note the the FRS/BRZ has now been put into CS. No Street Touring classification yet, or anything else beyond Stock.
