Wow, Sara with the 3rd overall finish. She is the crusher. Mike Cavanaugh whipping all the CSP crowd, that's pretty awesome. Looked like more fun than a cyber onlooker can stand.

We guys just have a mutual agreement to let her win and us just compete a few seconds behind with one another..... that's all. How she go so fast??

After reviewing the videos from yesterday. I've made so many mistakes that cost me lots of time...looks almost like I went for a Sunday drive! must do better next time! C

Hate to be "that" guy, but, yesterday proved our initial assumptions about the lights, and that they need to be shrouded.

No, it didn't. We had issues from the start on the finish lights. They were tripping fine at the light, but the trips were not always reaching the receiver at the trailer. That's a wireless signal issue, not a reflection issue.

I have no problem shielding the lights, but we have to fix the issue of the signal. It might just be batteries in the transmitters.

I changed the batteries in both sets of lights before the event. We can just move the trailer closer as me and Matt talked about. Overall it was a pretty smoothe event. If we have to give out a few re-runs every session I can handle that.

Just adding my 2 cents, I thought the course was excellent, fun and challenging. Great job John W, props to all involved!

sounds like I missed one heckuva event. I had to work yesterday and I had the usual married man easter assignments today . Wish I could have been there !!!

Then we have a bigger problem. The receiver was only getting about 2 bars signal from the transmitter at finish. Something is screwing up the signal if it's not the batteries. Is that the one that's missing the screw on the bottom? Any chance the internal antenna connection could have been compromised? We might need to look the transmitters over before the next event.

GREAT event! I got faster because I now have way more hp thanks to C for letting me co-drive. Great job done by all the novice, hopefully you guys will bring a friend next event. Thanks to the setup crew, the event went smooth and the course was AWESOME.

If you need more car time come out to the time trial this weekend and get some worker laps and free passes to future autox events.

I did a LOT of cooking in the off season to prepare for this year Heath....

the reason I say the lights need to be shrouded is while there was a constant light(cloudy, sunny) they ran fine, but, whenever the sun ducked behind the clouds there was a rerun to be had, same goes for when the sun came out from behind the clouds.

From what I understand, issues should happen with the lights when the sun is low in the sky due to the angle of reflections that result. Changing lights should not matter in that regard.

But, all we know for sure is that we have intermittent issues. Red cars break the timing board, shiny cars and sunlight reflect funny and case the lights to not trip, and there is a weak signal getting to the trailer. Let's aim to address all of these to be sure we have solid events in the future.

I had a great time, but not great enough to overtake Bobby Lyle for the CSP win. Congrats to Lyle and Darryl for some very good times on course. I wish we had access to a parking lot sweeper to get the grit off the course instead of just blowing it out of the way. By the time the afternoon sessions came about you could see the line and if you got off it just a bit you were in fresh grit. Argh, snagged a grit again 2 DNFs!!

Casey co drove my car and showed some remarkable car handling skills, places where I would gave it up and took a DNF, he flicked and wiggled and saved it. It was fun to watch. Unfortunately, I had lots of cone marks to wash off on Sunday.

Many of you have really stepped up your game! Good job!

Thanks to everyone that had a hand in setting up the course, it was my first so I was open to opinions and ideas. The first half remained pretty close to the original design but the 2nd half was opened up by Clay McCool since he thought 13 C-boxes coming back was too Chicago for Pelham. Lane changes and deceptive slaloms really sped things up.
Clay is a really bad influence that I'm glad came out to play Saturday. Thanks!
