Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

  • Tire question for u rubberneckers.....

I know there's been a lot of love for R1R's, XS's and RS3's. I'm looking to buy some 225/17. They will be on my wrx for DD/solo events. Im distributor has great prices on kumho LE sport and Bf goodridge g-sport. I can get kumho for 95 bucks and BFG for 110 buck. What do u think? Thanks

I think matt ran the g-force sports for a while on the evo so he can probably give some good advice.

For cheapo tires, I really liked the hankook ventus k12 vsomethings. They were 90 bucks a tire (70 something on sale) and are a 280 tread wear, they performed flawlessly down to the cords. Those were definitely the best budget tires I ever used. They were sticky enough, super predictable, and lasted for a whole year of autocross+daily back on the rabbit.

Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.

I've run the G-sport's before. I really liked them. I would have no worries about running them again on a DD.

I hate to do this, But i have to agree with Michael about the hankook V12 tires. I have them on 3 of my 5 cars, and they are the best dry performance tire around. I have appx 30k miles on the first set and they still have 1/3 tread. the best stick and wear for the buck!

Now, back to disagreement with Michael

I think the V12 Hankooks were on a my buddy's car...they lasted for freaking ever, and the few times I drove it they seemed pretty decent.

But I wouldn't listen to me about tires...I've never owned a set that someone else didn't own before me.

Thanks.. Ive put a set of the v12 on a customer e36 and he also said they performed well all-round. I do like the tread pattern on the gsport, but they look to be road noisy. I think the g sport might be good for a season of TT on the E30?

The BFGs are good, but they heat cycle out with daily driving. They are great in the dry and the rain until that point though.

To be honest, I like the Continental Pro Contact all seasons better for a daily tire. not a ton of grip for Solo though.

You're the one who turned me on to them, posting that tire rack had them on a fire sale.. Snatched em up real quick and wore them down like crazy.
