John,
You can plug me in anywhere you need someone early, I'll be there at 7:30. I am not an SCCA member and have never attended a Birmingham slalom, but have 11 years slalom experience from back in the 70s and 80s, can tech a car, help with timing and scoring, and chase cones.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you.
I'll do whatever needs done early so I don't have to work the rest of the day
Early morning waivers it is. You won't get to walk the course, but just snag a ride with someone for your coursewalk and you should be good. And bring your sitting pants.

Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.
Is the course going to be a test n tune course or a regular event course?
(Wow, I just use course three times in one sentence)
The course will be a Test and Tune course, not a regular event course, so that the course will be as clean a course as possible (for the Sunday course) and as quick a course as a course can possibly be.
(eight times in one sentence)

Reason: added another course

Of course.
I could probably shadow Charlie for Safety Steward duties as long as he doesn't ask me anything about hardtops and Time trials. I should say I'm not a licensed safety steward
but I have taken the course twice and failed to send in my paperwork twice.
I've managed the process twice, but twice failed to renew because I wait to the last minute to renew my membership, and, by then, I've lost the form. Then, the next time I think about it is a day before event registration ends, and there's no chance to get it done. It's not worth the trouble to people like me, who only occasionally make it to an event, anyway.
I wish they would allow me to document experience online, as Club Racing licensees can. Then, SSSs could have automatic renewals, too, assuming the national office doesn't get a stop order from the RE or Divisional SSS.
I know, I should write a letter. . .

Reason: Realized that griping here won't accomplish anything on this issue.
