I see what you mean. Once you are on the page go up one level and back down and the messages appear. I don't know what to do about it.
I know that they seem far away but there are 3 Tours that I'm going to attempt.
Dixie - Always a good event, nice asphalt, warmer weather than around here in late winter.
Arkansas - Not all that far, across the river above Memphis. Concrete similar to Lincoln
Peru - Grip, grip and GRIP. About an hour above Indianapolis. Concrete again.
Nationals are a day's drive. Long but only happens once a year.
I ran Peru a few years back and Mike is dead on with the grip comment. It was AWSOME. Flat perfect concrete! I'm forgoing the 24 hours of Daytona unless I have a paying gig there this year to try and make sure I can do Dixie. Arkansas really isnt that far away and Peru might have to take a back seat to the National Champs if it's looking like that may be in the budget by mid year.
I think I finally have a car that is capable and I've always wanted to see how I stack up with the right car under me. Hope I have the budget, lol.
What if I did the Dixie tour and then maybe went to the Arkansas Pro Solo, would that still count as 2 events to get to the SOlo2 Nationals or do both events have to be Solo2 if that's the one I want to run in?
Always wanted to try a Pro Solo, looks like alot of fun!
you only need one national tour solo 2 or divisional solo 2 to qualify for solo 2 national championship,so if you raced in dixie your in at nationals and you could still run the pro solo in arkansas. i only ran dixie this year which got me my one qualification for 08 nationals.
With concrete at the new Nats site, it's probably smartest to hit Peru and Blytheville, if you can only afford two. Too bad the old airfield surface is such junk at the Superspeedway, or we might have our own concrete to practice on.

National Tours a slightly different from a Region event, some aspects aren't as fun but some are! A tour runs both saturday and sunday, and yes you have to run both days (ok well nobody will force you to show up on sunday but it's considered to be somewhat rude unless there is some reason, ie sick, car broke etc).
Each day you'll get three runs and the course will be different both days. You also will have an assigned grid spot, during your heat it's your responsibility to be in the grid spot and ready to go when the grid worker wants to send you. If you are not at your car or not ready you will be skipped and most likely lose your run. After your runs you must return your car to your grid spot (not paddock) for impound.
Impound is where you can check out your fellow competitiors cars and they can check out yours. If there is anything questionable in impound a formal protest can be filed (I've only seen one protest ever in the past two years). An Impound worker will present the sheet with the final times and if everyone is good you are released from impound. If your car is in a class with a minimum weight, your car will be put on scales during impound.
Other than that it's run very similar to a regular autox, however it's really important that everyone is at their work assignment on time as with 200 plus people the event needs to run at a fast pace. Friday night usually there is a welcome party during registration, some regions do parties both friday and saturday night. I'd definitely recommend anybody to come out to a tour, it's a great experience and a good taste of what Nationals is like.
Not to attend the National Solo Championship, just one tour or divisional was required last year. You could be thinking about the Pro-Solo which has a series championship. Sorry, I don't know much about Pros.
