That's nothing...I swapped ends at the apex of T1 at Barbers with a Miata behind me. It's amazing how well you can aim a spinning car when you have to get out the way. And for the record I passed the miata on the front straight.

Yikes! That's something to keep an eye on while designing courses. Where might the spinning car go?

Isn't that what you're SUPPOSED to keep an eye on?!

Remembering that course, that area was in line with SCCA specs for design, but where John spun was not considered ... and also the speed at which he was traveling ... lol.

You can't account for everything in a lot like that.

It's more a consideration for where and when cars get started. Had Sam's dad started a few seconds earlier, it wouldn't have been an issue.

Also, if John knew how to drive it wouldn't have happened either.

            Lol ...

Yeah, As a starter, you look for the correct window to send cars. I've started events where there was only a small window to start the next car. In those cases, someone will always take their time to start, possibly making for a dangerous situation. I've had to start cars, then tell them to hold 10 seconds later before they actually start to move.

            Ideally, that situation wouldn't exist.
