  • Interesting course design

Stumbled upon this video. I don't know if it's an SCCA event, as there was a place or two that looked like it may have been out of the rules, but anyway, would this be too "complicated" for something here? There isn't a ton of direction, and you kinda have to know where to go and I'm afraid half the field would forget and DNF, kinda like at the Barbercross event. But it's really a great utilization of space!

1 car on course at a time would destroy a 70+ car event. It would take 2-3 hours per run group.

    And it's confusing.

yeah, that course sucked. I'm jonesing to get out and drive and that didn't even look like fun to me.

You can do better then that Nick. I know you are just wanting to set up 20 cones and be done.

We just need to setup courses at night, approve in the morning, chalk, and be done.

Being able to drive the course a few times and tweak it makes a big difference too.

I know sometimes there are conflicts like concerts the night before but if that wasnt an issue could we get access the night before? I'd be willling to help setup.

We generally have access the night before, the problem is that the environment is not controlled. They lock the gates to the amphitheater, but not the parking lot. So all our cones are out and the parking lot is a hotspot for "teenager driving jackassery" in the middle of the night on weekends. So leaving out stuff out is not gonna happen, unless someone is planning to stay there all night.

We could just throw a rager every night before, it would be good for club morale.

I exploded my intercooler pipe off on the way to that event... It has since been a recurring problem.

The only thing that was really good about that day was seeing the faces of people coming to get their car and they were all WTF

That video was from a Central Florida SCCA (Orlando area, basically) event. No and thank-you.
