Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

ST or HS for 2012

    ST or HS for 2012

    I am really unsure on how I want to proceed and looking for inputs. As I see it:

    Pros for ST:
    already feel like the car is maxed out in current form
    more tire
    cheaper tires
    lots of competition

    Cons for ST:
    cost of modifications
    car is kinda out classed in ST even fully prepped

    Pros for HS:
    R comps
    less mods/ more streetable
    fairly competitive in HS

    Cons for HS:
    lack of competition locally
    tiny wheels = smaller tires


    I keep running over this in my head, and while there are more pros for ST I can't say they outweigh HS. So please guys help a brother out.

    Can't help much, but keep in mind "ST" will not exist after this year. It is being split into STC and STF, with most, if not all, of our local ST folks going into STF. The Mazda2 will be STF.

    Depends on where you want to run I guess. If locally then I think STF is a no-brainer due to tires/wheels, competition, and freedom to make some changes to the car.

    Then again, Don(?) in the Hyundai Accent has been a consistent entrant this year. Y'all could have a little two car battle for 2012 in HS.

      Nobody runs in HS. Just pick an up class and run in it.

            Make the STF mods. If you succumb to rcomp crack you can always beat up on the XP crowd
