To encourage interest, participation and integration of novices into the TVRSCCA and ALSCCA regions, a new category of points called “novice points” shall be awarded to the top 10 novice pax positions in the North vs South competition, 10 points going to 1st place, 9 points going to 2nd and so on down to 1 point for 10th. These points are in addition to participation points and “top 25” points that may also be earned by novices.
Eligibility: Novice entrants that have participated as a novice in at least one previous ALSCCA, TVR or TAC event are eligible to score novice points. (First-time novices are also encouraged to attend, but are not eligible for novice points. They are eligible for all other points, however.) Since several novices have participated in both regions, novices will be asked to declare which region they want to run for at each event.
