  • alright boys and girls, round up the troops

We are goin' huntin' for some TVR action from the North.

see the below thread for something to wet your appetite.

We will be having the annual North v South event the end of this month. July 23rd will be the first leg of the event hosted at our own site at Verizon Wireless. The next day, July 24th we will be taking everyone we can up to Huntsville to battle the group from TAC for bragging rights. We have lost the last two years, and we are not going down this year without a fight.

Here is how the points work.

    1 53 points
    2 48
    3 45
    4 43
    5 41
    6 39
    7 37
    8 35
    9 33
    10 31
    11 29
    12 27
    13 25
    14 23
    15 21
    16 19
    17 17
    18 15
    19 13
    20 11
    21 9
    22 7
    23 5
    24 3
    25 1

And 2 points for each driver attending the enemy's event and 1 point for attending your own club's event.

A single driver can get multiple points for a single event.

Say a driver PAXed 3rd and had the 7th fastest time at the enemy's event:

    3rd PAX=45 + 7th fastest time=37 + 2 points visiting=84 points total.

This system rewards fast drivers, fast cars, traveling attendance and local attendance.

I figured out how to win.

Straight out, sweeper, straight back. Let the evo's breathe a bit, the volvo will do decently well, and or corvettes will show them whose boss.

Then we can take the hit from all their stock people in huntsville.

Or we could design a course with 4' wide gates and ALL co-drive a borrowed Fiat.

Its a blast and good times to hang out with everyone. TVR has a nice site and its a great experience to go to another site and beat them on their home turf!!! YEAAHHHHH

The following was posted on the TAC/TVR forum, I like the idea.

"I'd like to suggest that we add in more incentive and interest for the very healthy novice classes that exist in both ALSCCA and TVRSCCA. Maybe the top 10 novices score points, 10 for 1st, 9 for 2nd, and so on. Probably need to have 2 rules to keep things from getting wacky: 1) must have participated in Novice at least once before this season in your respective city and not have been in an open class, (proves your club recognizes you as a novice and prevent ringers) and 2) no R-comps. Any novice, even a 1st timer, would still score participation points, of course.

If a novice scores open-class raw or pax time points, he/she gets those too.

What do you think? Could this work?

I will likely not make the event up north, but I'll be at our event ... hopefully with a good chunk of points from raw times.

I stiffened the rear sway yesterday and it's a completely different car now. I think it will be notably quicker through most every corner. Much more neutral with a slight oversteer bias mid corner now.

I love this event!!! Nothing like coming together as a club and fighting as a team instead of each other. I think the extra points for novice is a great idea. Please everyone try your best to go to Huntsville, we won't have a shot at a win if we only go up there with a few people.

                Bring it on Huntsville!!!!!!

I'd like to pose the question, does anyone have any used 17'' Rcomps they would like to donate to the cause so I can race the TDI up there, since the volvo can't make the drive. (well, it could, but it doesn't get points for anything)

I just want the rcomps for the 2 events and thats it.

Hopefully Katie will be riding on her Kumhos for the event here. If not, you could maybe ask her. They are 16" but would fit the Golf as they sit.

I'll be at the Saturday event and I might try to make it to the Sunday event. Pictures everywhere!.....assuming it isn't 1 million degrees outside.

He's a 5x112 pattern with the high offset. Not sure either of your wheels would work.

I don't think I could stretch the 255's on a 7'' wheel... They would go on the the old ronals, 17x7 with a fwd offset. 245's was pushing it with the star specs.
