    Ricky- CONGRATULATIONS on being re-elected SOLO CHAIR for 2009 ! ! !

I can do PA Yacker if you need. I can also assist Jordan and Matt at registration, or do card tricks for those waiting in line—whatever!

Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection ...... again.

Say, how early would I have to leave Cullman to meet with yall in Ttown ...... this might be better than the event itself! (Canonball run got nuttin' on us!)

OK....I gotta give a report for everyones benefit.

I must preface this.I do a good bit of track days/HPDE.My cars weakpoint is the clutch.

The history of my clutch failures has been as follows ....Oem replacement clutches have served me pretty well.I get about 12 hours or track time out of the disk and then kabooooey!!!(Basically about a year or so on a clutch disk)The lining comes off and the clutch is history .Throws all of the lining off of the PP side of the disk and I am pulling the trans.

Recently I tried a differant approach.I got a disk that had 6 individual button type contacts.BIG MISTAKE!!!!The material was grippy and very resilient ...too resilient !!!First off...there was massive chatter on engagement. It sucked to drive in traffic. The material was indestructable. The metal that attached it to the input shaft was NOT!!!!Instead of having a disk that was more durable...I had a disk that was actually less durable .The increased quality of the friction material actually overcame the strength of the steel that made the center section and it failed massively almost ruining the flywheel and the bellhousing of the transmission .As a matter of fact...if it had failed any more violently ...I might have been missing a foot or two by now.

In short....just because its not factory doesnt mean its better. It appears that Nissan got the clutch right...er more right than the aftermarket can do it.Kudos to Mike at clutch and brake specialtys on the southside. He said ..."Ricky,Im glad you are OK.Im sorry I recomended that garbage,Ill take care of it ."

The good news is that I got it put back together .I went with a disk that was of a OEM design with a Kevlar lining .So far...there is no chatter ,it is flawless in traffic ,and never slips .In short....Im coming for you Peter.See you guys this weekend.i will be investing in a scattershield this winter.I cant afford to lose any body parts .I would recomend to anyone else the same.A 25 lb searated assembly can do a nasty bit of damage if it penetrates a floorpan at 8000 RPM

Your car and your clutch, they scare me!

OK well I better give a report for everyone's benefit, too. When I bought my car in July, I hated the pedal set-up. The brake is stupid-high compared to the gas, even when I stand on the brake, the gas is miles lower. Terribly uncomfortable getting between them, not to mention inefficient.

Well, I am getting that adjusted tomorrow. Yeah, a whole inch, baby. I'm sure this will cut a good 30 seconds off my 80 second best of my first solo last month.

So you Cavanaughs and whoever else shows up in B Stock, yall just better look out.

                  YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Are you afraid that the car will go out of control because of the pedal change?

I've looked at Porches (I know it's mis-spelled) and the pedal setup is horrible on the 911. Beautiful car but they put all the foot controls in a space analogous to a cowboy boot.

My goal this weekend is to extend my 2 win streak against Josh. He's going to win the Championship but I'd like to go down swinging.

Well let's see. I'm not known for my navigation skills, but I don't think we're exactly on your way

To get there at 7, we'd have to leave here around 5:45 or so I believe. My TomTom says it'll take you an 1:45 to get here from Cullman.

Make it a little earlier if we decide to add an offroad stage over Mt. Cheaha.

                      You do the math...............

                        Hahahaahahahahaahcough.

The pedal setup on Porsches is pretty unusual in that the whole pedal cluster is offset to the right from driver center. It's weird, but I'm well used to that part of it. It's just the crazy vertical distance between brake and gas on my car that's been bugging me. I'll be so glad to have that sorted!

So in my first solo outing last month, my goals were to drive my car home, and to not get lost on the course. I did miss a gate, same one, on my first two outings. But after that I at least made it from start to finish without getting lost. Even if painfully slowly!

My goals for this weekend are to drive my car home, not get lost on the course, and my challenge for this weekend: the big kahuna, to not come in dead last.

My husband has refused to come along and drive slow in his 98 automatic Camry to make me look good. Dadgummit.

Hey did yall hear it was "BRING YOUR GRANNY TO SOLO DAY" this Sunday? Yup. Grannies drive free. Maybe if some of yall bring your grannies, I will have a chance at making that last goal. Either that, or I have this blind friend in Leeds........

And since mr yoda is apparently bringing crap tires, I will beat his piece of crap german car as well. damn germans...
