  • New to your Forum

    Hello,

I am new to your forum but am looking to get back into autocross and have moved to Montgomery, Alabama. I see that there is a 23 July 2011 event shceduled at the VERIZON WIRELESS AMPHITHEATER IN PELHAM, AL. I have a few questions that I hope someone can help with:
Who is a good point of contact for a new guy to your event?
Is pre-registration available or required? I did not see this event listed in the pre-registration stickie.
What is the time line for your event (registration and tech open, walking, first car out)?
How are numbers selected? Do I need to be a club member for a locked number?
When are groups/heats and worker assignments available?

I'm a "B" Stock Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 driver, my son hopes to attend his first autocross in his SRT-6 and I have discussed this event on the Crossfire Forum with the Northern Alabama Crossfire club. There may be 1 or 2 additional crossfire owners who would like to join in on the fun.

    Thank you,
    Carville

    Welcome Carville,

This forum is a great source of information leading up to the event. John & Mark Kilgore are our solo chairs and run all solo events. There will be a thread posted a couple weeks before each event with specific event info.

Pre-registration is highly recommended. It allows us to make sure we are properly prepared for a given number of entrants, and it allows you to pay by credit or debit card if desired (pre-payment is not required.) A registration link will be provided int the thread for the event. If you can't pre-register, show up anyway and our registrar will take care of you, however, only cash or check is accepted at the event.

Our site is open @ 7am. Tech and registration are open ~8am-9am. Course is generally approved for walking by 8:30am. We have a driver's meeting and novice meeting at 9:00. First car off around 10:30. Our events wrap up around 4:00.

You select your own number when you register provided it is not already taken. Numbers are resuerved on a first-come, first-served basis at the beginning of every season. Be sure to bring numbers, tape, chalk, etc. with you.

Work groups and run order are determined the morning of the event and are available at the driver's meeting.

If you have a car club that is interested in a specific day contact Mark or John and they can create a club PAX class so your club can compete with each other even if classed differently.

    Hope this helps!
