Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

    Some input on suspension

    Guys, would it be worth it to have my Bilsteins re-valved with the somewhat tame springs I currently have? They are 290lb (~5.1k) F and 330lb (~6k) R and slightly progressive. I have fairly stiff roll bars to go with them.

    The Bilsteins can handle those spring rates already. Are you planning on going to stiffer spring rates?

    For the money to revalve a set you could be a long way towards a set of Koni Adjustables
    and have the best of both worlds. Firm them up for AutoX and Soften them for the ride
    to and from.

    OR Drink the anodized Orange Kool-aid that is AST/Moton/JRZ and be lost adjusting shocks like me.

      I'm considering because I can get a killer deal on the revalve through my sponsor. Don't want to say the rate here because it's insane.

      And the Bilsteins are under dampened currently. It's really noticeable through tighter corners. There is a significant "bounce" under compression. On rebound they seem fine. the OE Evo Bilsteins are a little sifter than the aftermarket Bilstein HD series.

        Too much compression will make the car chatter over rougher surfaces, is that the bounce you're feeling?

          IT's not a chatter ... it;s a rhythmic bounce. I may need you to go for a ride with me. It's easy to replicate in a culdesac. Well ... when the clutch works that is.

            the Bilsteins are a different build from other shock absorbers and can withstand fairly significant spring rates. Mark and I both have the Bilstein Sport which are made for upgraded sways and stiffer springs. We have 450lb and 650lb and way stiffer sway bars. Granted our car is much less in weight, but still. If you are running the HD then you may want to take a look at the Sports. Otherwise, if you've had them on the car for a couple years, they probably need to be revalved simply from wear. I think the revalving is 50 or 75 bucks per shock from what I have seen. Its less then buying new shocks, and you have to think about the wear you are putting on them.

              I have a set of bilsteins that really need revalving for 700/450 spring rates and I am not above slapping some magnets on the car
