Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

It's a surprise. Please be patient until I can show you.

BTW, I am looking for sponsors if someone visiting the forum is interested.

Sell that car and make an offer on my old CS Miata that Mike Wenning has now. it was nationally competetive. You would come out WAY cheaper and have a sorted top tier car ready to drive...

          Thanks for all the input.

Rod is correct that stock class is out of the question due to the challenge of building back a completely stock car. I'm trying to decide between STR and CSP based on cost effectiveness and driver development. I've got good targets to shoot for locally in either class. I'm leaning towards STR as it would allow me to build a very driveable car and later develop a csp car without a lot of investment loss, right? The only hangup is CSP miatas are competetive everywhere (even though I may not be.) STR miatas...meh, still fun. At least you don't have to finish dead last.

My idea of cost effective may be skewed on the normal auto-x scale. I'm looking to spend $14k to make the bimmer marginally competetive. If I can spend $6k on a miata and be competetive I'll be ecstatic.

John Waight- I have an order in with Tom at Parts Group. You're not headed North anytime soon are you?

            $6000 eh?

            Koni Yellows $600
            Re-valve fronts ~$250
            Ebay coilovers $40 (toss springs)
            Eibch 800 pound fronts $135
            QA-1 450 pound rears $80
            RB Hollow bar $150
            RB Header $450
            Darby muffler ~$220
            Homede intake ~$200
            Megasquirt DIYPNP $430
            Wide Band O2 ~$190

Thats around $2800 for the very basics and leaves $3200 for a set of 6UL 15x10s and your very first set of Hoosiers and you'll still have almost a grand to play with. Nationals? No. FTD at a local event? Very likely.

Edit: What trim level is the car? Base/Sport/PEP/SE?

This is very much what I have in mind. Except, maybe hold off on the megasquirt and hoosiers for a while and run STR.

Oh, and who's driving for FTD?
