After the terrible disaster that struck our state on April 27th we have been asked by many members what we can do as the Alabama Region of the SCCA to help our fellow citizens. We have gone through many different avenues and talked to several different groups about ways to help out the victims of the storms.
So for our May 14 solo event, we will be hosting a fund-raising effort that will be directed to victims in the Tuscaloosa area. Vincent Coker, a Tuscaloosa resident, will be heading up the relief effort and will be the main contact for any questions regarding what you could bring to the event, whether its clothing, blankets, toiletries, or monetary donations.
At this time our donations will go directly to Calvary Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa. The church is directly involved with taking in and handing out donations.
