  • 2011 Solo Points 2 - After the Panic

Okay autocrossers, we are back at it. We had an excellent turnout for our Points 1 event, and I thank everyone for coming out and making that day great...even with the Rain, Hail, Tornados, and the Mayor. The season is revving up now, and we are at the beginning of the long haul of National Tours and our sister regions events every week.
2011 Points Event #2 will be held at Verizon Wireless Music Center, Sunday April 17th. Please post up here for positions on the setup crew.

For those of you who want to be on the setup crew but have never done it, show up early and get a feel for what is needed. Help out where you can and learn from those who are there. These are your events, if you want them to be great, help to make them great.

We really need some people to start training for Registration/Waivers/Timing. If you are interested in these places specifically please let Mark or John Kilgore know.

Speaking of Widespread Panic ... how does Saturday look for you guys? Katie and I would like to do some work in the trailer to get rid of some clutter and make setup and little easier.

Saturday may be thrashing on the BMW motor. I will let you know. Either way, we can get some work done on the trailer before then. And I need to get that Toner Cartridge.

We can deal with the trailer for the weekend if needed, but we need to clean and organize sooner than later. We came up with some ideas while chilling at the rally-x. A small investment in some j-hooks and such could go a long way.

            And yes ... toner.

I will cover the non-speaking safety steward role. It's time for someone else to give "the speech"

Man, i sure am sorry i'm not going to be able to make it and help out, but it was great getting to auto x at points 1, and put me down for whatever on points 3.

kinda off topic, but could one stay in a small camper in the parking lot overnight before the autocross?

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Actually I don't think that you can. We actually inquired about this because it was part of our concern with the Widespread Panic show and their "followers." Verizon Mgt told us that they ask people to leave the premises once the shows are over, and they do not allow overnight guests due to the large number of hotels around the complex.

Yep, I think we did a pretty good job this year of not having too many conflicts. This just happens to be one.

I think I still need a SS shadow (two right?). If so, I don't mind taking a crack at the speech to relieve Rod.

Can I get your real name to make sure we have everyone listed right in the set up crew?

                              Thanks.
