  • 2011 Solo Safety Steward Course

    Hello everyone,

David Steger, the SEdivSSS, will be coming to our TestNTune event on the 27th of February to hold a course for both new and current holders of Solo Safety Steward licenses. David will be offering to the current license holders a refresher course for the 3 year license.

Please let me know who would like to attend the New SSS course.

Our current SSS holders are Jerry Vogel, Darryl and Tim Engel, Chris Warren, Chuck Schultz, and Rod Hardiman. Please let me know if you all will be attending the refresher course.

****We need Safety Stewards!!! We can not hold events without TWO SSS per event. So take this time to make sure that you attend this course. If you are wanting to get more involved in our region, and autocross in general, this will be a great course for you to attend. It will only take a little time out of your day during the TnT and I assure you there will be plenty of time to knock the dust of your tires from the winter. Thanks*****

Sign me up for the refresher if the course isn't too early, I have a feeling I'm going to be late to a lot of events this season.

No guarantees, at this point, but I should be there to get a refresher. Thanks for getting this done.

Having more SSSes available is probably more important, this year, since there will be both Saturday and Sunday events. I know I will probably have conflicts on some Saturdays, for example.

Therefore, if you've ever considered getting a SSS license, now is the time to do so. The biggest requirement to qualify is to have enough interest to take the course, fill out the paperwork and send it in.

I remember several events last year struggling to find safety stewards. I will be there for this.

Very true Chuck, that and the attrition rate on students is pretty high. YOUR club needs you, don't leave these kind of things to "someone else".

Ok, selfish post, I want to do the SSS course, but will there still be some test and tune time or will one preclude the other?

                      Play It Safe

If the course starts first thing in the morning I will be able to participate. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend the p.m. session.

Information for Schedule of SSS course

The Solo Safety Steward Course will be scheduled as follows:

8:45 am Start of Classroom session
9:30 am Start of Coursewalk for NEW Solo Safety Steward participants
                            9:45 am End of Coursewalk

This will allow for everyone to have maximum run time on course and not pull from the Test n Tune day. We will be starting runs at approximately 10:00 so no one should feel rushed to get runs in for the day. I would advise showing up by approximately 8:00 so that you can finish your registration and any tech for your car before the SSS course begins. We will have preferential lines for those in the SSS course if a time crunch is seen.

                            Thanks,

                            John Kilgore

John, this means that the people taking the refresher only have to be there from 8:45 until 9:30?
