Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

3.5L in the 635csi...has cats.....8" and 9" tires...aka not 7.5 ....unless I swap to some ancient wheels I have (stock) but I'll still have springs and no exhaust after the cat....so still str (i guess?).

maybe I'l run 215 r888's on the 6, or the 240 on shitty streets....I guess the 525 is defintely F-stock...but holy hell it is slow...I don't know if I could live with myself running it. I'll probably run the 6 in STR if I get my brakes in time, or the 240 in SM....I'd have to be paid to run the 5 in F-stock.

Do this by editing your registration (not your garage) and putting ALSCCA in for tire brand. No biggie if you don't, but I think it helps for proper accounting, especially since we have so many of our new folks heading northward. Read that as "it keeps them nefarious TVR folks from claiming you for themselves", 'cause if you don't claim ALSCCA come registration time Sunday morning you will be counted toward their score.

I did not see a way to do this when initially registering, so I think you have to register and then edit that registration to get to "tire brand"

Also, my boys & I will be heading up I65. Anyone care to meet us at either exit 282 or some point further north?

Rod, I tried to edit my registration to enter ALSCCA but I couldn't find the icon for Tire Brand in the edit menu. Help! How do I accomplish this task? Charlie

The 6 is most definitely NOT a STR car. It ought to fit in STX which allows normally aspirated engines up to 5.1 liters, wheels up to 9", and tires up to 265mm. Of course for any ST_ class tires must have treadwear rating of at least 140

Charlie, check Matt's post on page two of this thread...about #42. And no big deal if you can't edit the online registration. Just be sure to tell them when you register on site.

BTW, which way are your heading to Huntsville?

copied and pasted from the handbook (off the scca website)

              A. Tires may have section widths up to and including the following:
ST, STS, STR (AWD) – 225 mm
STX (AWD), STU (AWD) – 245 mm
              STR (2WD) – 255 mm
              STX (2WD) – 265 mm
              STU (2WD) – 285 mm

              my rears are 255's

Any wheels are allowed with widths up to the following:
ST, STS, STR (AWD) – 7.5”
              STX (AWD) – 8.0”
              STX (2WD), STR (2WD) – 9.0”
              STU – unlimited

My street tires are treadwear of 200, unfortunatrely my r888's are 100...dang I wish I had Rcomps on the SM 240...stupid stretched 225's vs. rcomp 255's I could easilly fit. I won't lie though...logic/competitiveness have little to due with which car I will run. Priority will be; Car that is running>Car that will pass tech/won't light on fire>Car that is funnest to drive>Competitive...lol?

You gotta check which cars are eligible for the various classes, listed on page 171 or so of the rule book. Only certain cars, most of the roadsters, are eligible for STR. The 6 ain't one .

The 6 would be in STX. r888's are illegal in all ST classes.

I am a man. I do not read books- I burn them.

I'll just claim D-stock, and punch anyone in the face that disagrees...than clarify that any disagreement with my punching will somehow involve se***al fluid.

Pretty sure I am covered on every front.

What is D-stock + missing exhaust, springs, and wider tires?

There is more truth in that then you know...except sadly I probably can talk my way past the 1 point I made driving...At least I can get at least a 100% increase in my points just for showing up
