    Radiator Woes

    Got a new to me, never used before 3row all metal radiator for the volvo. The previous owner bought it and let it sit as living room decorations for a few months, and sold it to me. I got it in the mail today, opened it up, and found a slight problem from shipping..

    I've contacted him about the original shipping info to see if theres any way I can get it warrantied or something, but in the mean time, what do you guys think? Open the pipe and slap it on, or beware?

    The only thing that is concerning me is that the pipe opening for the radiator hose looks like it's coming up a bit, and being a pressurized system that worries me that it might have been structurally compromised and will blow after repeated heating/cooling cycles.

        Carry it to a radiator shop and have them check it out.

          +1 on what Chaz said. Take it to a radiator shop and have them straighten it out and pressure test it .Copper and brass is pretty resilient and very simple to repair by soldering . There are 2 shops in Leeds that are very good at radiators .Brentons automotive and Geralds radiator and muffler service . Geralds number is 699-2341 I believe and Brentons is in the book .BTW they are both fantastic exhaust guys with benders and they do great work.

            Copy that, thanks for the info.

            Luckily enough, the guy who shipped it is really awesome and is taking care of the cost (through ups hopefully) to repair it. I guess I'll take it by next week and see what they have to say.
