  • Question for the ST guys

I have a question for the ST crowd. Please chime in if you have an opinion ...

Katie has been running GS with her GTI this season, but has rarely had any competition. She really wants to race with people in her class. Since Jordan and the McCools have been MIA for most of the season, she's gotten a little bored of GS and getting a trophy by default.

Now, the GTI is a STX car, since it's boosted. How would the ST guys, or anyone else, feel about letting her run the car in ST locally for competition? The car is completely stock currently, and may have a cat back exhaust installed this weekend. She's on Direzza DZ101 tires.

If anyone has an issue, be it for competition reasons or general respect for the SCCA class structure, I understand. But I'd just really like for her to have some people to run against. Please let me know what you think.

Hook me up with a turbo and you've got a deal. J/k, sounds good, even though I'm technically still in novice, I'll be there in February!

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you.

As long as it's not another focus I say OK.

I also think it wouldn't be a bad idea to combine ST & STS locally. We only have two STS regulars and their times are really close to (the same as) ST times.

Present. (just don't let the STR guys get any ideas.)

Why do I keep racing these weird cars?
Why can't I just get a miata and be happy?

I was just about to remind Casey there are only two of us poor ol'STR regulars also

Be very careful about inviting STS. Eric & Manuel are pretty quick, and someday Eric may get set of real tires to go with the suspension.

That's kind of what I was worried about ... "do it for one, do it for all." I didn't want to open that can of worms. I'll tell Katie we'll try to let her run in ST next event and see how it goes. Thanks for the input guys.

I'd still like to hear from John W. or Darryl is possible since they are the Solo Chairs ... we'll ultimately defer to their decision.

If the competitors in the class have no problem, I have no problem.

So Katie has qualified for the GS Championship and will be running ST for the rest of the season? Right?

I believe so ... she's not really interested in GS since there are no other competitors. This is not anything about moving classes in past events .. just going forward. Possible classes for the car are:

GS - No one else without Jordan and Clay.
                          STX - No one runs
DSP - Only one on a blue moon
SM - No where near competitive

Yeah, but she's not interested in PAX. I suggested that. Also, no one runs it aside from you when you can make it, so the same issue.
