  • Slip sliding away at the autox today...

Well it's just my luck that the first points event that I have been able to make all year had to be RAINY, but it sure was fun! I think with some driver modifications the Mustang will be a quick car in whatever class I decide to run in with it permanently.

It was great to see everyone today and I thought the crowd fairly large considering.

Congrats to Matt for FTD, two months in a row!

Look forward to the next time I'm able to participate in more autox fun.

If I'd felt better and/or hadn't left my rainsuit at work, I probably would've made it over for this one. I'd really like to drive the car in a controlled environment a bit before taking it for its first track day, next month.

It was almost noon before I felt well enough to get out of the house. . .

This discussion brings up a question I've had for awhile. What's the policy/procedure for running two cars in one day? I've been wanting to bring a 335d out, but I don't want to abandon the ST competition.

Today was a blast. The crowd was just the right size for a fun day. Props to the "nameless" course designer who did a great job considering all of the challenges posed for the weekend.

Sorry you weren't feeling well Chuck. But trust me, a rainsuit would not of kept you from getting wet...the rain was rather heavy at times...

Are you going to bring someone to work your other workers assignment? Two cars = two workers assignments.

I'd suggest running in a class where both cars are eligible. Otherwise, you could consider doing like 3 and done with the ST car, then DNFing the other runs in the second car ... that is if the ST guys are okay with it. SCCA rules specifically say you can't run multiple classes, but you are perfectly welcome to run 6 different ST cars for 6 runs in ST.

If you tell start to DNF you as soon as you leave the line, it doesn't matter what class the car would be in. Some of the CSP guys remove their class magnets after their last scored run. That way it's clear they're on a fun run, and there is still a number for worker stations to identify the car.

Why do I keep racing these weird cars?
Why can't I just get a miata and be happy?

I don't have a problem with you running CP.... I think we could have fun... when it isn't raining.. You have more horsepower, yet more weight. That is until I get you looking the other way and sneak that motor out of your car for mine...

Note to self: Check weather forecast night before event. Leave Mustang wiper blades in tow vehicle always, just in case.

I actually enjoyed running in the rain. It’s good to get some wet surface car control practice every once in a while. At least it was warm and raining! LOL Another great event ALSCCA crew!
