Yep we had a great time! The course was really fun and LONG. I had to really focus to remember all of it since we have had such small courses lately at home. I too suffered a bit from the heat, didn't drink enough water. errrrr Thankfully I run street tires so we rocked the yellow wheels on the way home, no way I was gonna change before leaving. Great even ATL folks, hopefully we can make it over there again.

What a great time! The trip to Atlanta was a blast. The course was awesome, the grip incredible, I didn't think my tach would rev that high. It was great that Sara, C and Jordan made it over. Mike Cavanaugh was there too. I didn't see the full results but I know I coned away a win by a mere .053 seconds. Once again splitting the Atlanta CSP co-drivers Kevin Boswell(1st) and Tom Shuman (3rd). That's like 4 times in a row now. Sara placed 2nd in her class... wearing a skirt! Imagine the shame the rest of the manly SM crowd of getting beaten by an actual skirt wearing girl from outta town. C improved through his run group to make his last run the fastest, I don't know where he ended up in class. That car is fast, loud and luckily the sound equipment crapped out otherwise he might of got a message from sound control. Atlanta polices sound above 93db. Jordan was driving in the afternoon session so I didn't get to see her run. Glad you are feeling better Jordan. Migraine medication and the hot sun are not a good combo. After my work stint I changed tires and headed home. The Miata no longer has air conditioning so I was hot and sweaty when I left and still hot and sweaty when I got home. Next time I'm trailering. Great event, great competition and a great way to spend the day.

Amaffs newly E-prepared car is so low with his 13" Hoosier slicks at one point I thought he might get high-centered on course.

If you didn't go, you missed a good one!

I think I saw on the results page there were 201 entrants......201!!!

Jordan destroyed the GS class, and had me a little worried after her second run (about 1.4 seconds off my proGS time, but with a cone near the end). I was sure that she was coming after me during her next 2 runs. She put down two more good times, but was probably a little distracted because she had passengers each time. The dad and 2 daughters of the family that sponsor her drove to ATL and got their first taste of autocross! They all stepped out of the car smiling and complimenting Jordan's driving skill.

It was great to see everyone from B'Ham this weekend! That's the kind of course we get at every event - Jay P and the rest of the design team are awesome.

It's being built for D Prepared, but we're running E-Mod locally because there's no one to play with in DP, so you had it half right on both counts

And we're actually running GoodYear slicks (20x9.5x13). Man... amazing how some new tires and a little diet can make a car come alive. We're usually beat by Team Boswell/Shuman by about 2.5-3 sec when we were in STS. My codriver had Boswell covered by a half second, and I was even with him. Man... that car was fun in STS... it's bonkers now. I can't imagine what 50 more whp would do for me

Funny John! lol Good times. Yes when might we have the official times? We have been so spoiled here with our awesome timing and scoring crew getting times up before we even get home.

Did you guys take both cars Sara? The Evo Atlanta guys mentioned the extra Evos that showed up.

of course, you know we don't like driving each others very different cars! lol i talked to one of the Evo guys in SM, black Evo VIII, gave him some tips on a better launch which he did on his last run. there were several Evos but tons of subarus. you must come next time Matt.

Results will probably be up tonight... in the forum and on Soloatlanta.com.

With a couple hundred cars it takes a bit even to get the raw data posted. They normally post unaudited, then audited, then final.

It was great to see y'all come out... see ya Sunday.

Yeah, generally they're up the night of the event, but occasionally our T&S people I guess have a life too. What's up with that. I anticipate they'll be up tonight or tomorrow morning.

Thank you John for the kind words. I was over driving my car a bit, took Mike out on the 2nd run..and I think I scared him with my super late brakeing and 4 wheels power-understeer. Thats when he gave me a few tips. I applied for my last two runs and managed to shaved off 2 seconds. but was never able to calm down enough to get the turn before the slalom right and that cost me dearly, but I've learned. So thank you Mike for the advice. C

Yeah, getting your speed down for the right hand sweeper before the optional slalom was pretty critical for a good time on that course. I always felt I went through that particular element too slow... right up to corner exit lol

All four times through there I thought I was too fast going in then mid turn thinking "man that's too slow", then thinking I wish I had gone further to the left on entry. Who knew one could think so much about a simple 180degree turn?

There's no such thing in autox

Setting up for the optional slalom made that turn difficult for me. I never got it correct.

Results have finally... sort of... been posted:

apparently there was some disconnect, and no one was able to do it. Results haven't been audited or anything, but they're there.
