  • Plan for July 25th Solo Event

Since I'm pretty sure it will be very very hot on the 25th I propose that we do "3 runs and done" in the morning take a lunch break, find some AC, then come back and have an afternoon of fun runs/testntune. We'll do fun runs as long as there is at least one person on each corner station. Once a station is vacant we call it a day. What do you think?

Works for Us. We have already had "heat" issues with Ron at our last Atlanta Event.

Note to self - water is not enough, need sports drinks too.

    Thanks for askin !

Good point Sean. Heat exhaustion can happen before you know it. Everyone please bring something to drink the club usually has water on hand but when it's this hot we can't bring enough. So please make sure to protect yourself from the heat by bringing a cooler with ice and water and a sports drink of some kind. Sports drinks have the electrolytes you need to function while sweating like a pig. Water doesn't. Actually water helps flush those electrolytes outta your system a bit quicker.

its been so long since we had an event I'm looking forward to running with everyone again. I hope that plenty of people hang around in the afternoon so that we can get more runs in.

Found out at the last atlanta event, 136 drivers, the region went through 20+ cases, (480+ bottles) of water. Had to fill the cooler twice with Ice.

But... still looking forward to a good event. Bringing the good tires for this one. Need forward grip, need forward grip....

Sounds good to me! I've already had one heat stroke this year, wasn't fun! Everyone drink water and electrolytes; don't wait until you're thirsty to drink water, that means youre already dehydrated.

I'm most likely game for this event in the GTI. Who wants to have a tripod mode challenge?

Just to reiterate the heat exhaustion thing, if you come to the autox not hydrated, you'll never be able to catch up throughout the day...even if you do drink a few gatorades. The key to avoiding heat exhaustion is making sure you ALWAYS stay hydrated. So, get a head start toward the end of the week and early next weekend.

Do we want to set up the fun runs like a normal event would be, have x group of cars run first, and some people work, and swap out after 45 minutes or something?
