Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

    While you're on it, can you change the image that shows up when you bookmark this page so it's not a red rose?

      Is your a rose? Mine is a checkered flag. The program contains some code that detects fancy rabbits and automatically flips them a rose! Like I say, this website stuff is beyond me ! Getting flipped a flower does seem better than some kind of bird, don't you think ?

        I get the checkered flag like David. Sometimes you can get different images because the site jpg was overwritten by another site.

          I'm getting the rose favicon as well on the forum. The main site is the checkered flag. I'd suggest just double checking the favicon.ico file in the root directory for the forum.

            thats funny . I already had it bookmarked forever in my favorites. I didnt see anything out o the ordinary from any other time . The only indication I had that something was differant was the .NET in the addy

              Firefox displays the Favicon file in the address bar, so it's real time, not just in the bookmarks. The bookmark directory might cache the favicon file at the time of creation, which would not be affected. Also, if you bookmarked the old forum, the link should be broken, unless there is just a redirect in place from the .ORG of old. In that case, the old URL may still have the flag favicon file and would still, technically, be correct.

                And it looks like there is a redirect in place, so that's likely the disconnection. If you'd like to test, make a new bookmark from the updated .net forum address and see what the icon is.

                    I have a rose, and I've tried it on multiple different computers, including both macs and pc's... and I've never seen the checkered flag... just the rose. haha
