Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

Well we made it back from south GA last night with another great event under our belts. First off I want to congratulate Mark Kilgore for getting the second place trophy in SM!

The Saturday course was a lot of fun, fast in places usually with something really tricky on the end to make you use your brakes. Sundays course was a lot faster and more open but this also made it a bit confusing, there were a lot of DNFs but once you got it figured out you could really fly! The surface was great, flat and pretty gripy. I think the ALSCCA made a good showing with 5.5 drivers (Mike C was there of course and I think we an lay some claim to him) and all doing respectively well in our classes. I think we will definitely go back next year. For those that didn’t go all I have to say is you missed a great event and an awesome pool party! hehehehe

Nice job, way to represent. Would liked to have been there. Anybody got pics from the event? Looks like Sean travelled to some drag racing deal this weekend.....?

      Link to the A/X results?

Looks like a fun hot weekend for all. How do you like the concrete surface (stick and tire wear)?

This weekend was a blast! It was great to get out and go to a different site with different drivers and see some really talented cars and really talented drivers. It was great going with the ALSCCA peeps, we had a great time!

Even if you don't want to go to participate, going to Moultrie, GA is an event in itself with DJ friday nights at the applebees and pool parties and what not. Good times had by all!!!!

We'll post the pics and videos later today

It was definitely a good time and a great learning experience. The surface was very rough. Being an old airfield in the middle of crop land we had to deal with uneven surfaces from the ground settling over time and no upkeep of the pavement (reminiscent of BRC). There was the occasional plane tie-down that couldn't be avoided in course layout, but I don't think anyone had any tire problems caused specifically because of them. It was an interesting surface, its hard to tell about tire wear because everyone (ALSCCA) except Jordan was on street tires. The grip was good for sure, but I can't say that it was significantly better then say, Milton Frank, it was just different.
There was alot of rubber being laid down and I for one have a greater respect for road racers who "get off in the marbles" as it happened to me on day 2 in one of the sweepers. I ran a little wide and it was "grip, grip, grip...whoa the backend is coming around."
We got to corner weigh the car, definitely a plus and something that had been a desire of mine since the suspension was finished. The e30 came in at a fighting weight of 2670 with half a tank a fuel. Yes, that is right, half a tank of fuel because we were having fuel starve problems only running 1/8th tank, we were really throwing the car around!!
Thanks to Rod for letting us borrow his HDcamera and mount, we got some good video and hope to have that up soon.
And I want to especially thank Eric Edwards for designing the last autocross course with the STOP BOX. You will be proud to know that not a single one of the ALSCCA group hit the cones after the timing lights on day 2 on a finish that would have made anyone that was yelling about the STOP BOX absolutely cringe. The finish was a slalom, a kink, and a long lined stop box that was completely full throttle from the second to last slalom cone through the kink, rev limiter screaming in 2nd gear through the timing lights and then hard on the Brakes with ABS popping to get stopped. I was so glad to know that I was able to do this and the very reason was because of the last course we had. There were alot of people that were going through the cones at the end and taking out cones through the finish, but not a single ALSCCA person did that! We all hit the last cone at the timing light, but nothing beyond that!!!
John Kilgore...if winning was easy, losers would do it.

So... from the person with the R comps... DANG!!! I wish I had known about all the grip available on concrete on Day 1, because on Day 2 I drove FAR more aggressively and it was INCREDIBLE!!! I love r-comps. the end!

We all had so much fun too, especially at club applebees!!(??) I think an even bigger group should go next year, even if it's small for divisionals, it was still a great event, great seat time, and a lot of fun
