Autocross in Huntsville this Saturday, it will be held at Milton Frank Stadium. It looks like several of the Alabama gang are going to be there. TVR puts on a great event, if you have never been this would be a great weekend to go.

Zac & I will be there. Son #2 (Ben) also, but alas he is but 14 and relegated to ballast..uh..passenger status. Since there are 3 of us & its not our event I will be Miata-less, choosing instead to flog Zac's Civic. I will be asking many questions regarding Miata suspensions though, as I have drunk the AlanB koolaid and am making plans for a move to STR in 2011. :O

Thanks TVR! If you didn't go you missed a great event. Weather was perfect, Clay built a course that made the cones tremble in fear and we had 8 runs. I think I had 1 or 2 clean runs. Congrats to AlanB for the FTD. It was good to see all the ALSCCA folks make the trip to Huntsville. John and Mark Kilgore, Rod and Zac Hardiman, Alan Branch, Darryl Engle and Pop. Heck ALSCCA made up 20% of the entrants.

as a added plus I got to do the Solo Safety Steward class and shadow my first event!

It was a great day. I had my SPF 50 on and my hat and still got sun, but you couldn't have asked for better weather considering.

Even though he coned it away, I've got to give Zac props for finally getting a little aggressive and running 0.4 faster than my best time in the afternoon. First time he's done that. On the way home he said that he had learned that his car was faster than he thought. I told him he learned something else too...that he could beat me in the same car.

I'm sure David Branch will chime in that it was just a matter of time, but at least I still have a solution for a while...separate cars in different classes!

When that no longer works I will turn to the "old age and treachery" technique!
