OK, can'y stand it any longer, who's the new Marshall? What's the bits on the new lot design? Is the Marshall the FTD breadwinner? How many entrants? Man i hate missing the Alabama gang.
Low-ish turnout today, what with TAC also having an event and then something going on at Talladega. Great fun though with Eric's two lap course.
Lyle's the CSP winner, but W8 went out in the afternoon and had FTD on his street tires.
Here's a video to give you an idea. Uploaded by special request...my passenger was a first time visitor David. He & his son got several rides in the afternoon and hopefully will be back to participate in his very nice 02 special edition Miata.
Yeah, Lyle walked away with the badge in the morning, obviously managing the mud a water a little better than the rest of the field. In the afternoon though, JW came out of nowhere and crushed everyone's times, ending up a full second faster than FTD I believe.
I was excited to get a decent PAX time for once ... that made me pretty excited. Top 5 PAX in a BSP car w/ SM PAX numbers.
The course was really fun and I really liked the decreasing radius turnaround at the top of the course. Finding the right line there was critical to fast times and was pretty difficult to figure out for me. I really liked how that section was open enough to give drivers options for lines. Made it really interesting and lots of room to learn.
yes, i agree with matt!! the course was great. i finaly figure out the turn around on the top side but came in a lil too hot on the 2nd lap and took out three cones....and was unable to duplicate it again on my last two runs. oh well.
btw, has anyone posted the results?? C

It was a fun fast 60 second course utilizing only one lot. Better grip that the rest of BRC without the loose gravel. Yep, Lyle made the best of it in the morning and won the Badge.
For fun I decided to try the new street tires in the afternoon session and they were the ticket. I am a believer in the power of TOYO R1R tires. They truly are treaded R-compounds.
There were a lot of cones and we were hurting on entrants but the event was fun even though we were having technical difficulties out the wazoo. Ricky was first. He brought the truck and trailer to BRC and stop to find out where to put the trailer. I got in and started it and the brake pedal went straight to the floor. The right front brake hose sheared off and spewed brake fluid all over the rotor. Ricky was was one brake use from a brakeless truck.
The generator had a idling problem that was resolved by Pop Engle, and we had the usual timing gremlins that come out occasionally. All these issues caused us to get a slightly later start than normal but everyone got 6 runs and we were still home by 5.
Thanks to Eric Edwards and Clay McCool for the unique and fun course design. It's a keeper
Thanks to all that came to help set up and tear down and those who volunteer their time.
Chuck brought out the barbecue for some good lunch fixin's and the nurses of the Birmingham Chapter of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses were there to provide a free health screening. I know my blood pressure was probably high with the technical glitches so I apologize if I bit anyones arm off.
Mark your calendar for the next event at BRC on May 23rd! See you there.

Looks like an interesting course design. Hate that I had to miss it, but "something going on at Talladega" kept me from attending. I hope the course next month is just as innovative as I SHOULD be able to attend finally!
