  • And now for something completely different...

John has decided to try moving the event to the bottom lot this weekend since the top lot is looking lunar (but great rallycross practice)

So we are going to try setting up a course on the inside lower section (where we usually pit and grid), with the trailer setup on the previous autocross side. It will probably be a 1.5 lapper with the start at the bottom crossover and the exit at the top where we usually line up to start. All the cars will pit and grid on the higher section. That way, we can have a continuous flow on and off the course and back into the grid area. The pits will be in the 3rd section where we have finished lately (or possibly on the far top of the bottom upper section). Anyone that has any other suggestions or comments (with a possible better solution, of course), please feel free to chime in.

Disclaimer: This event is NOT intended to conflict with any other racing (or other) event that day (either real or simulated).

Sounds good ... just be sure to park the trailer close to the finish lights. I think 200' was the max reliable range.

I've done a few events where you do two laps on a smaller course, it's interesting. I think it's a good idea to try considering our location and how bad the other lot is getting.

And yes we will have to work extra hard with the novice because this kind of course has the potential of being very confusing even for a more seasoned driver.

No worries though Mr and Mrs T are up to the challenge!

I just need to make sure I bring my SM A game this event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for blaming me if it doesn't work out.

I'd rather we start and finish at the bottom to avoid any concerns about finishers losing and heading toward the lot used by the sunday patrons of the track. Plus keep in mind the Dog track employees use the bottom road to bring out the dogs to weigh them. That road will have to remain clear for traffic.

Clay, We're going to need to purchase a lot of plywood for the loop-de-loop, I'll bring an extra hammer and extra band-aids. Do we really want to add the jump through the ring of fire? I think the Safety Steward will get a bit edgy on that one. I like the plan we discussed... wear your Nomex!

I almost forgot,... we will also have the Bham Chapter of the American Association of Critical Care nurses on site doing a health screening for any one who wants one. Some how I feel safer doing this course with a few Nurses hanging around. See you Sunday!!!

And I was going to bring steel cable and a hose for the "skid" pad section...

So are we still doing the whole course in reverse gear? That way I can have a RWD- rear steering car...
