  • M2000 Helmet ok?

I know in the rulebook it says its ok but just checking local rules to make sure you guys allow it for auto-x. It's a used KBC M2000 Snell rated helmet.
If not do you have loaner helmets at the events?

There are loaners. Not sure about the helmet though, but generally, if it's allowed by SCCA then it's allowed at our autox events. The time trials and what not have heavier rules.

Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.

M2k is good.If memory serves ,the helmet rule is M,K,or SA and the year is the present most up to date which is 2005 to the previous realease which would be 2k.The Helmet needs to say specifically snell M2000 on it whether it be in plain sight or inside the lining .My G-force says it right on the back of the helmet

In short...your good to go.See ya Sunday.

Ricky, I believe it's the 2 previous ratings ... so, 2005, 2000 and 1995 would be acceptable. At least, I hope so as some of the loaners were '95s last year. =)

thats why we have so few loaners this year.
its the currents & 1 previous, for a total of 2 listings. what really sux is that i bought my current helmet about 3mo before the new rating came out. had i been paying attention i could have gotten a few more years worth of use out of it.

Current or 2 preceeding ... current is '05 ... two preceding are 2000 and 1995. I was confused on it last year so I double checked.

Sweet, I'm good to go then! I have the orange Snell M2000 sticker inside under the lining.

DOT "ratings" are irrelevant for the purposes of this discussion. All that is allowed is certain specific Snell, SFI, or British ratings, as discussed previously.

                        From the link, above -

                        Current acceptable standards:
                        Snell – SA2005, M2005, K2005, SA2000, M2000, K98, SA95, M95
                        SFI – 31.1A, 31.2A, 41.1A, 41.2A
                        BSI – BS6658-85 type A/FR
Certification labels with serial numbers are located inside the helmet.

and a snell m2005 will be good for another couple of years right?

Much more than a couple, since '95s are still OK, right now.
