ive been to a couple of races here recently and didnt know what it was or anything i just saw a few people goin that way and so i was wondering, ive seen alot of people up there in nice modified cars, but im just in a stock ae86, what are the requirments to race for a day, now ive asked around and found that you only race half of the day, and field work the rest, but do i need compound tires, , roll cage safty harness, and all of that, any help to getting me on the track would be greatly appreciated

For autocross you can drive a bone stock car if you want. All you need is a seat belt in good working condition, a battery tie-down, and tires that aren't worn to the threads and you're good to go. You also need a helmet for your noggin.
But for the track I'm pretty sure a minimum of 6-point rollcage is needed.
For all the rules visit SCCA.com and read or download the 2008 rules PDF file. That will pretty much tell you all you need to know and then some.
You get classed by the type of car and modifications done to it, sometimes less mods will put you in a better competitive class than a heavily moddified car.

A great way to start is by downloading and reading our "Solo Orientation Guide". You can download it here:

no special equipment other than what Toyota equipped that car with are required or necessary. The vehicle need only pass a basic common sense safety inspection which is no less than is necessary for driving back and forth to the convenience store .

You need only wear a seat belt and helment and obey the rules set forth in the drivers meeting and you and car are in like flint. We even have helmets for loan at the event so all you essentially need to do is show up with the required entry fee in hand and come join the addiction .Please dont hesitate to PM or email me if you have any questions or I can be of assistance .
