I suggest that you get more distance from the finish to the trailer. The trailer is a magnet for people and gear. Either stop earlier or later but get enough room to straighten the car before the finish and lots of braking room. Maybe move the trailer W-E along the South side of the lot (up the hill).
National SCCA officials stressed a safe finish at the Town Hall meeting to all regions and I heartily agree. Howard said problems at the finish could be the end of autocrossing unless we strictly policed ourselves and were pro-active. He said he did not like testifying in court...

I really like the trailer below the curb like we have had it most of this season. Also I just noticed that it's an up hill start, thats just mean to tires and drivetrain
Other than the start and finish it looks great!

Quick comment on the positioning of the trailer on the course map - I think the trailer would be fine where it usually is in front of the grid - I think I would actually like it better there; I just thought I'd throw in an opinion from a T&S person. Matt, what do you think?- Jordan, GS-15

the course design is Jamies .The safety aspect of the assorted parts of the course will be dealt with by the safety stewards on site for this event .Some folks had preferences when we always had the trailer at the top of the access road. Now some of those folks are like hey this works better.
You can be assured that its not going to be placed unsafely .We always end up revising and tweaking things onsite that dont necessarily mirror the plan. The object that i pursued early on was trying new things based on what worked better not necessarily what everyone was used to and this can be considered in the same category .
From looking at the map it looks like it is a great placement with no range problems so long as it follows common sense proximity criteria I dont see any issue.the T&S folks can see the grid, start, and finish clearly as well as the cars at start so in my opinion it is even better than below the curb so long as it is out of harms way.
Looks solid to me .

I would like to offer a suggestion...
If we moved the trailer up a little into the paddock area (in front of finish of course map) but still in the lower lot area, and angled it appx 45degrees so that it faced the middle area of the course, you would achieve better visibility of the course, the big door of trailer would give you a view of Start/Finish area, and it would be safer to access by everyone (since people WILL go to it during the event). I'm sure there is some downsides that will be mentioned, but having it between the finish area and the paddock is not very convenient. Unless you swap start and finish on the course....Bill Clinton "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is."

Like I said before the trailer placement is not that big of a deal with the course design as long as both timing lights will work properly.Originally posted by Jamie Holladay View PostIt's not a problem for the trailer to be below the curb as far as I am concerned as long as the timing lights will work at that distance.
