  • BACK at STEELE!!! THIS SUNDAY 5/17/09

After a long break it’s that time again for our Fourth Annual Waking the Earthworms RallyCross this Sunday May 17th. We will be back at the Alabama International Dragway located just off of I-59 in Steele, Alabama. Entry fees for the event will be $30 for SCCA Members and $35 for non members. Registration will open at 8am with Tech to follow. The first car should begin around 10am. Hope to see everyone there.

    Directions can be found at

Anyone want to try setting up a RallyCross course? All offers and bribes with beverages considered.

Well the RallyX-7 carb issue has finally been fixed. After the rainout last weekend, I'm looking forward to sliding the car around.

I"m looking forward to some sideways action. I missed 1 or 2 of our RallyX's last year so I'm pumped. I'll dig the snow tires out of the basement! See ya'll there.

Turns out there's a solenoid at the fuel inlet to the carb that was failing. I think it's some kind of safety device that stops fuel flow.

Still haven't got the magnet out? Just need to use a stronger magnet to pull that one off the pressure plate/flywheel.

                    do you have a...

So you've got 200 ft of runoff all around the course, a hairpin (thats the line with a circle at the end), and you can run it either way.

I don't remember what the terrain was like outside of the course last time i went (years ago) so i'm not sure if all of that area is useable, but if it is, i think that could be fun.. maybe.

oh, and does anyone need a co-driver? The rabbit does not have tires to even think about attempting this.. and it's my baby.

something to consider...for the surface conditions we will have on Sun...
hard-in(braking), hard-out(acceleration), tight turns will not hold up very well

We've been running on the other side of the drag strip.

I'd like to run some tight stuff as that's what I think we're going to get in Colorado. But Tim is right. Maybe the rain will stay away.

Actually since that is my only car I have still been driving it daily. I probably shouldn't tell anyone that though.

My 1st gen is still motorless :<

I guess I could jack up my ground controls and blue tape the sides and underbelly of the FD....

I thought you had a hot rod motor in that thing.
