We are holding the annual IRONMAN competition as part of the next Rallycross event. The RallyX will be at Hollytree on Sunday July 14th but the Ironman runs the whole weekend starting with drags Friday evening. The Ironman is an optional challenge in addition to the individual races.
OK for those unfamiliar, the annual Iron-man competition is set. Here's how it works:
Friday evening July 12th at 7PM meet at Huntsville Dragway. Points awarded for lowest ET, reaction time and 2 runs closest together in time (consistency).
Saturday July 13th run in the Autocross at Milton Frank. Points for Raw time and PAX
Sunday July 14th run in the Rallycross at Hollytree (see Performance Rally forum) Points for Raw time.
Running the same car in all 3 is recommended as points are deducted for switching cars. But you can.
Charles Wright has the secret calculation system used for every Ironman.
A car that is very good at one will be less good at another event so it all works out. You CAN change tires and setup for each event.
This is the 7th annual event.
The official results and the award will be presented to the winner at the end of the Sunday Rallycross event. This is a special pass-around trophy and custom T-shirt plus all the glory you can bask in for a year. Oh yeah, you keep the shirt.
The new Rally site is smooth enough for almost any car. If you ever wanted to try RallyX this is a great one.
It would help to know who is interested for a head count.
