  • Ranger Rallycross

This has prob. been talked about before, and its prob. in the rule book and I just couldn't find it, but how low would my 02' ranger Edge have to be for rallycross. I have yet to be to one of these events (sad I know), and the Ranger is the only vehicle I have for it. Are the width/height requirements the same as Autocross?

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you.

I looked for a little while, but couldn't find anything about it other than the event operator will decide if it's eligible?? There was a small truck there when I went. Think it was a small old toyota, but I forget. Where you at slowautoxr?

I am fairly certain the rules are the same as for autocross. However, it can still be eligible if the event chair (Edwin for our region) if they determine it will not be a problem. I have seen a few trucks at rallycross, and it shouldn't be a problem. The last rallyx I was at in Huntsville even allowed a full size F-150 to run...a Ranger should be no big deal

Just know that everyone is going to hate on you for rutting up the course.

Because they heard I liked my name, so they put my name as my name so I could have my name in my name... all the time.

Because a Ranger would rut up the course worse than anything else there?

A Ford ranger (edge) would absolutely be able to run a rallycross event. Bring what you got!

Ok, cool, but I'd still prob. lower it a little before I brought it. Its factory raised and has torsion bars like the 4wd, but its only 2wd. Its easily lowered by taking the spacer block off the rear axle and lowering the torsion bars in the front. The only thing I would have to change, according to other ranger posts, is the rear shocks due to the suspension travel.

Jeremiah do your tweaks without spending a dime and bring it out @ the 1st event. Get a feel for it and then decided if you want to do anything more. Keep it stupid simple until you know you like rallycross. Remember just like any type of auto racing, tires are the most important & should be the 1st upgrade you do....Hope to see you out.
