  • Tech check!

Just wanted to get this setup verified before I move on ...

This is how my fuel cell is mounted.

Lower bracing. Stitch welded to the body. Essentially, the cell rests on the four supports the run up and down in the photo.

The cell is held in place by two, 1" metal straps. These are bolted to the body using M8 bolts and nuts welded to the body.

    Any issues?

Are there any rule requirements for this? If not, you're on your own.

The Rally-X rules are a little sparse. To be honest, I didn't reference the GCR, which I'm sure has specifics. This thing is solid, so it's likely fine for rally-x. It might not pass a TT inspection though. Not sure.

Looked over the GCR and it seems that it could be legal for some classes in TT, as it's bulkheaded. But, it's not fully encased in metal, so it's not wheel-to-wheel legal. I didn't see anything about dimensions of straps or anything. This thing will only ever do Rally-x, Auto-X and maybe a PDX anyway. Should be solid.

Edwin, I haven't filled it up yet, so no clue if it leaks. lol
