Yeah. I just like the 2 doors best. I know they are the same thing basically.

I'm getting excited too ... going to GA this weekend to work on the Beetle. Lexan for the windows, tubes and plate for the chassis stiffening. Floor pans waiting on me. It will be nice to have some work done on it.

I'm doing all I can to meet my deadline ... I want to race at the July event.

If you see a green ford festiva with Louisiana plates, that's me! I should be up there a few times this year.

Oh yeah! I saw pictures of that one. Love the festivus!
I used to be into ford escorts. Lots of swappable parts.
              Is it manual steering?

Cool, I asked because I may have a manual track from a 323 still laying around.

I run a 1994 Escort GT in stock front. I think you will have a blast, Rallycross is a lot of fun!
We have very laid back events with alot of seat time.

Seat time sounds good. I never had a GT but I wanted one. I did have a ZX2, that was a fun car.

Just scored some almost new all seasons.
Should I use my steels or my alloys? I see a lot of steels in the photos.
I figure the alloys are lighter.

Not that I'm necessarily the one you should be taking advice from, but I agree that alloys would probably be lighter, and it also seems like steelies would be more prone to bending in rally situations...but I could be totally wrong there. I just always figured there were steelies on a lot of the rally cars because they're cheap and plentiful.

I thought, that too, but for my weird lug pattern any wheels are uncommon.

I heard steelies are preferable for rallycross because, when bent, they can repaired with a hammer where alloys are much harder to repair.

I don't know about preferable. I've read forums that argued against using steelies. I like alloys because they look good - and that's what I'm all about.
