RallyCross Announce New Awards for 2011:
SCCA RallyCross TripleCross Award
The RallyCross Board will present this award annually to any competitor who wins in a single class at all three (3) of the following events- The SCCA RallyCross National Championships, a States Championship event, and a National Challenge event. All winners will be awarded a trophy, a special fleece vest, and free entry into the next year’s National Championship event. This award will be initially given in 2011.
The next SCCA RallyCross TripleCross event, Western States Championship, will be held March 26-27 at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah.
SCCA RallyCross Marketing AwardThis award will be given out by the SCCA RallyCross Board (RXB) if a qualified recipient is nominated. The Marketing Award will recognize an individual, event, Region, or Division for an innovative and EFFECTIVE marketing effort, which uses unusual techniques and out of box thinking to create a model for other RallyCross programs to use as a template to increase the RallyCross program's public awareness or entry levels. The award period will run from September 1st to August 30 each year. The SCCA RallyCross Divisional Stewards will poll their Regions in September for qualified nominees and send these nominations to the RXB no later then October 1st each year. The RXB will review the nominations and determine if there is a winner of the award, which would then be presented at the Rally/Solo Awards Luncheon at the SCCA National Convention.
