  • Finding a Place to Practice

Guys, I know I need a LOOOTTTTTT of seat time to get better and to work on Rallyx driving techniques. The dirt roads in the area aren't really "tight" enough to get much value and any suitable place in my area usually has horses, cows, hay, cotton or some combination of all 4. Any suggestions on how to find a place to practice? I've located a sand/gravel pit on an aerial map and may swing through there to see if it's open. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

I don't have the luxury of a place to practice either. I just go to more events.

I plan on attending as many as possible but I can't make the TVR on May 15 cause of work, June at Shag Bark is iffy due to work..... I put a plea out on facebook to see if any of my more countrified frineds will let me drive on their place. Wife's family has som property but most of it is wooded with 1 small patch that's fenced in and the gasline easment.... could possibly put very short, twisty with pivot cones at the ends on either place if they'll let me.

Hyundai is sitting on lots of acres. Maybe somewhere way out back by the property line?

Yeah, I've asked permission to practice and for the company to form a team like Honda. Security would be rather miffed if I just popped out there to drive.

We got chased off a few times before we actually got permission. Our lay out is a little different than your's in Montgomery.Your's is more flat and they could see you pretty good.Ours has lots of fields surrounded by trees so we were able to go out and most of the time not get caught.
I agree that a place to practice would help a lot. We went out to the fields they gave us to use last week and set out a track with cones.I bet we ran 100 laps on it. There is nothing like seat time. Our President( no not Obama) and vise president both want to ride and drive next week.
I am going to go up to the gravel/dirt roads on Cheaha to drive some.We may try to do the Sandblast rally and that would be a place for us practice. You may have to try dirt roads, they will be better than nothing.

Our place is flat and has monitored cameras that cover every entrance onto the facility otherwise I'd be all over sneaking onto the property to drive.
