Car Acquired... 88 VW Fox with 88K miles on it, little damage to the rear bumper and need a new battery but it runs and it's something I'm not afraid to get dirty.

Barring any unusual happenings I'll be at the Rallyx in May. Do y'all need any folding tables? I've got a few to go along with my pop up canopy and bag chairs.

Awesome glad you got the VW & will be there May2th....I'll see about loaner helmets. I think we should be able to get one or two...some thing I need to work on. When you get to scrounging around for parts for the VW Fox, please keep an eye out for alternator bracket(s) for me.

No Foxes in the junkyards around my area that I can find and haven't run across anyone parting one out on line yet either.

Got a guy looking for me from Huntsville, but no luck so far. If you find a parts donor, just drop me a message.

congrat's on the car, you will have a ball at rallycross, I have only done 2 rallycross events so far ,its alot of fun no matter what car you drive ,just trying to beat your previous time ,trying to figure out what works and what doesn't!

I checked on Pull A Parts web sight , they have 5 VW Foxes in Atlanta between the three yards they run , if your up for a road trip! The bad thing is there is no way of knowing what parts are left on the cars! You can go on their web sight and "request a car " they will e-mail you when it comes in , there is a yard in Montgomery. I almost forgot there was a guy around B'ham,Leeds area that had a VW parts web sight , Jim's VW , Jim's Air Cooled - something like that ,you might want to search the web for him!

Hey wouldnt a bracket from any other VW year(rabbit/golf,jetta,dasher) use the same bracket? Can you fabricate one? Im sure it can be done.

I was under the impression from reading that the old Golfs and Rabbits had a lot of interchangeable parts with the Fox.

I need to check with the VW guys around here to see what they have around. I just don't have much free time working 13 hours a day






I'm thinking calling her either "Rallyfox" or "BoxyFoxy" dunno.... if y'all have any suggestions I'd like to hear 'em.
