As I recall.....(I went a little beyond yr, make, mdl and price)

'95 Subaru Impreza (base model not L) with 1.8 (only 112K miles)...purchased 100% functional, stereo, etc.
(13.5 hour trip to Eglin AFB and back to HSV area)

Put some steelies and snows on and drove in PA for half of '07 season and the first 3-4 events of '08...then....

'95 JDM WRX motor, 4.11 tranny, fuel pump, full wiring harness and ecu (swap)
Changed from cable-pull clutch to hydraulic (all Legacy GT components-direct bolt-in)
      Fresh clutch and flywheel
Fresh timing belt and water pump
Aftermarket header, up/downpipe, 3" mandrel-bent exhaust with magna flow race muffler
      '02 WRX Coil-pack upgrade
      FMIC, custom plumbing
Manual Boost Controller (currently @ 8psi - stock is 10psi.....14psi is light-switch crazy!)
Replaced BOV (original would not hold pressure)
      WhiteLine suspension upgrades/rr anti-sway bar/lateral links/camber/toe adj-OEM frnt bar
KYB AGX Adj Struts w/ STI-rated springs
Swapped rear diff from 3.90 to 4.11 (Legacy GT donor)
Custom built rear axles from Raxles
      Rebuilt front axles by Raxles
      RS Rear sub-frame
      JDM WRX front cross-member
      Gutted Interior
Optima Red Top Battery relocated to spare tire well
Installed 2.25" guages in the climate control knob holes (temp/oil press/boost)
      Momo Steering wheel
      Momo Shift knob
B&M short shift linkage (not just short shaft)
      Primitive Racing roof vent
Cool old-school bus fan (for driver comfort)
Marine type in-line blower for de-fogging windshield
Dash switches for engine cooling fans, wipers, lights, personal fan and de-fogger blower
      El-cheapo seats with G-Force 4pt harnesses
      (4) 14x6 steelies with 175/65 Winterforce tires
      (4) 14x6 steelies with 175/65 Hankook 201 rally tires
      (4) 16x7 OEM wheels with Kumho 710's (IRONMAN / autocross setup)

Swap completed Aug 08 - numerous RX events in huntsville, bham, chattanooga, nashville, manchester, valdosta, memphis, Arkansas and Ohio.

Only issues since swap; failed fuel pump relay and some melted fan switch wires.
      Right at $6K.......ish.

....with electric blue (painted) dash trim?........Priceless.

Looks like i'm blowing my budget wide open by rebuilding the new rear end before it goes in. Hopefully one day in the near future I can give it enough power to actually warrant the rebuilding. I'll try to enjoy the better gearing and disc brakes anyway.

Why do I keep racing these weird cars?
Why can't I just get a miata and be happy?

You're gonna make my rallyx ride jealous. I just keep slapping on used stuff.

You got some sort of limited slip differential in there?

Currently it's an open diff with the smaller of the two sizes of drums available, somewhere in the 2.8-3.0 range gear, and goofy sized 4 lug wheels. The one I pulled from a junk yard Lincoln Mk VII LSC is the same parts-bin-engineering Ford used for the Mustang SVO. 3.27 traction-lok with 11.3" discs and convenient 5 lug pattern. I'm rebuilding that, but with a 4.10 ratio.
