We should have everything we need there ... we've got loaders, tractors, trucks, etc already on site. But, we won't turn down some helping hands once construction starts. It's a little bit of a hike, but I think it will be fun watching something like this come to life.

how can you call it a "Rally" SSS without jumps or mudpits...?

this is the vid I have been trying to show you Matt

Since my own car currently has a blown engine and James decided selling his drift car was a good idea in favour of a mitsubiushi lancer evo, we were at a loss when…

WRC SSSs don't have jumps and mud pits that I know of. The plan is to make the SSS very friendly to beginners. With jumps and mud pits we move in to the realm of requiring cages and other safety equipment and severely limit our customer base.

and I can't see Vimeo at work apparently.

Hey if all this is happening...I'm ready to work!. If I'm thinking of what your thinking your doing, it will be AWESOME! Virginia Region had a site called " Oakland Acres", it's a set course with bank turns, blind-crests, tree sections & lots of area. Really, really great site. Even big enough to change the configuration of the course layout....You can count on the Rallyx crew to help with no doubt....You may want to You-Tube "Oakland acres" and see some vids of that site..it's freaking awesome, to bad they use VIR now for their events.

I'de love to go out and see the land/area. Any chance of that?

Sure you can, but give it some time. We're meeting this weekend to try to get some final details for the sanctioner. This includes course layouts, financials and such.

You'll want to come out once construction starts. I'll be keeping these posts updated over time with photos and status updates, so you'll be in the loop.

                This is the location ...

The fixed courses will be in the already cleared pasture areas in the center, and the areas N and NW of that will be available for SCCA RallyCross. We will be doing some clearing to the E and W of the large pasture area for paddock, staging, grid and spectators. Part of the RallyCross course will pass through the trees to the W, but we're on the fence about clearing the entire infield in that area. I'd like to leave a tree line for "effect."

                  Cool idea.
And you have 2 "biggies" covered......site location PLUS the luxury of equipment to keep things consistent.

The AL region has a great core group of RX'ers that would certainly have some valuable input.
And there's a few of us from the TVR that would support this type of event......as long as it stays at a minimal (scca rallycross) level of prep.

I look forward to hearing more about this and am exicted at the thought of opportunities with this venture.

........Oakland Acres.....I've heard the stories and seen the videos.

We hope to have the surface fairly solid so that it doesn't not rut easily. But, if it does, we do have the ability to resurface it after events.

We have a 2 wheel drive Pilot that we think would be perfect for this. We will try to be at the first event next year. All of our guys at the plant really like the idea of doing some rallycross. We may have an Accord we can try also.

. . . may not meet the letter of the rules in stock configuration, because it's a little tall. You'll want to check on that.

It will be a "little lower than stock" and weigh around 1000lbs less than "stock". Other that that it will be stock.
