You're bring the hot models, Chris? Awesome. I'll mark you for that ... thanks!
We aren't planning to make this a spectator venue from the start. There will be spectator areas, but no grandstands for a while. We've got some geography to work with, so we'll make the best of it for the time being to give spectators a nice area to view the races from.
The current layout for the SSS is around .85 miles (both sides combined). We think this will be around a 1:30 course since it is quite technical. Should be a blast to drive.Last edited by TouringBubble; 11-21-2009, 03:31 PM.Matt W.

Hey TouringBubble, is this something you're toying with or is it in the works? Organizing an SSS would be big work. A Race of Champions type event is doable. Just like
"IRONMAN CHALLENGE" done every year by TVR. Have 2day event with 2nd day of eliminations. Location would be the key! I know Talladega National Forest has had SSS in the past......for right now I'm looking to have 6-8 Rallycross events with larger turn out & to start building the program. I think when others notice that rallyX is fun, safe, competitive & doable , I think they'll flock to it or at least check it out.

This is something that is in the works. We have the land, the equipment for construction, preliminary course layouts and are working with sanctioning bodies on their requirements for such a venue.
I'm not sure what has been done locally in the past, but we are planning to build a WRC style SSS ... such as this ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFyNbYhjTB4. A heads-up RallyCross lap competition.Matt W.

That is still undecided. Once we finalize the course designs, we can speak with Rally America (who we will likely be working with for insurance) to see what requirements we will have.
I really hope we can design the course in a way that will not require a roll cage, as that will severely limit our customer base. Yes, there are barriers, but I don't see our slow, technical course being as dangerous as a track day on an actual race course as speeds will be much slower.
Really, it will all depend on the actual speeds, the barrier layout/construction and the whim of our sanctioners. We should know something final in a few months at the most.Matt W.

No, no jumps. The bridge for the crossover on the SSS is over a span of around 350', so the grade will be minimal and you should keep all 4 on the ground.Matt W.
