  • 2010 ALSCCA Rallcross Season

Thank you Charles for the intro. Yes, I'll be the handling next years ALSCCA rallycross season with the help of some knowledgeable others. I want to thanks in advance to Ron Foley, Charles Wright, Shea Serian & other SCCA board members. Next years goal is to have well organized events & socials to promote the SE rallycross scene towards a National competitive & well known region for all regional divisions. I want to show the rest of the nations regions how enjoyable & competitive events in the SE division can be. ALSCCA has lots of die-hard volunteers & supporters of motor sports, from amateur to Pro racing. Together with the help of ALSCCA, TVR,TAC, Memphis region rallycross & even individuals from GA, I know we can make 2010 a new future for the SE Rallycross Division.

This is great news. Thanks for taking up the responsibility. I was afraid that our rallycross program might slip away!

If you're interested, I might have possibly found a new location for Rally Cross. Big, nice open areas of grass and dirt. A local family opened a huge outdoor entertainment complex in Hayden, AL. It's around 25 miles north of Birmingham off I-65, between Cullman and Gardendale.

He's a car guy and is all for it, but his biggest concern is insurance. Is there a phone number of someone I could put him in touch with?

I think it would be a good mix to have events at different locations. I don't know the vibe of events in Steele, but I'm positive events here would have a really nice, relaxed environment. It's away from people and you wouldn't have to worry about noise / public interference. He has a drive-in movie theatre, camp grounds, Locust Fork River access, and an outdoor concert stage. He hosts several bike rallies and car shows throughout the year, so RallyX would fit in nicely.

      Just an idea.

Here's the official insurance info on the National website - http://scca.com/contentpage.aspx?content=83

Here, linked from that page, is the landowner's packet, which includes a description of the club's policies, and has a phone number to SCCA Risk Management (the people who handle the insurance) - http://cms.scca.com/documents/insura...s%20Packet.pdf
