    Thanks,

    you have a smart phone?

Mark used Harry's Lap Timer on his Iphone. It works really well. Gave the same times as the transponder.

Officially, there is to be no timing of pdx's.

unofficially, Harry's lap timer for iPhone or Trackmaster for Android.

Thanks Casey. I declare it "unofficial use. Guess this means I'll need to get a smart phone. It's about time as my children and grandchildren make fun of mine every time I take it out.

If you aren't ready to take the plunge and add a data package to your cell bill and such, I've done testing and I know that TrackMaster works just fine with no data service. So, you could buy a cheap Android device off eBay or somewhere and just use it for GPS.

I've got my old Moto Droid mounted to the dash in the Beetle as a rally computer. It serves as my ODO and speedo for the street, as well as GPS data acquisition for racing. I've even added an offline GPS setup to it so I can get directions without needing an internet connection.

I also use an old Android phone with no actual cell service with TrackMaster, Torque Pro, Ulysses Speedometer, and as a GoPro camera remote. We just moved from one cell provider to another and the boys' old phones are the somewhat "ruggedized" Moto Defys. I REALLY want to find a mounting solution so I can securely mount it in the M3 but haven't come up with anything yet.

Thanks Rod. Our old phones don't have GPS feature. Looks like a "smart" is in my future, or a stop watch.
