Questions about PBoC DE process

I've done PDX with SCCA before and now I'm trying a DE with the PBoC. I'm hoping some of the forum members who have run with them before can enlighten me.

Is there a Tech process for DE cars, and when does that happen? What's included in their DE car Tech?

Do DE cars wear numbers with PBoC?

I see a medical eval form, but that seems to apply to those seeking a competition license. Does that apply to DE drivers?

Are spectators allowed?

Most of these questions are answered in the email we were sent a little while ago. There is a tech form you need to take to a mechanic and have it done before arriving for registration. Medical form does not apply. They provide vinyl numbers to place on rear windows. Spectators just have to sign the waivers at the credentials building.

I have run Barber before but this will be my first time with them as well.

Do you know of any local shops that are friendly to things like the PBoC Tech form?

I'm going to use Ricky Ragan or Edwin Cunnill. Edwin leaves town on Thursday though.

I think anyone that is competent can use the form. In reality, we have used the forms for SCCA pdx, however, we normally just allow you to do it yourself.

The first statement on the form says that you as the driver are responsible for your car, and the mechanic will not be held liable. I am sure that there are some people who would go so far as to say, "I take care of my car, I wouldn't trust some wrench-monkey to check my car" and sign it themselves. And then there are those that take their car to a SpeedSouth or somewhere like that to have a $75 or $100 inspection done.

Just know that the form itself takes all the liability off of anyone except for you.

Joseph ...fill it out yourself ....show up at registration with your helmet and run the car. Its simple as that . Unless u do not trust your own judgement on the condition of your car it is not necessary to prove that by visiting a shop. Trust me when I say that it is merely a risk management form to satisfy PBOCs obligation to safety. If you do need a second opinion on whether your car is fit and safe for a track day...(which is totally OK) I would be more than honored to do it for you for free at the texaco express lube on the corner of 280 and 119 . cell is four22one41seven

Oddly enough, it looks better on the printed page than it did on the screen. I think I have it handled.
