  • PBOC needs instructors

OK those who are qualified and comfortable with instructing ....PBOC is looking for instructors for their DE on !!/15-16.If youa re looking to break into instructing and you are looking for a good club to get started with ...this is the club to do it with.I started with PBOC 2 years ago instructing and they are one of the benchmarks for HPDE.Very organized ,very safe, very structured.

If instructing is not your bag...they are still taking entrys for the 2 day and also single day packages for this Barbers event.

Well let's see. I had a pretty exciting ride today that ended at the beach. But I am not sure the number of the car I was in. It was red. Just like the hair of the driver.

Ricky, I think you were in the gang of guys who greeted us back at the paddock. I got out of the car and did a big "SUPA-STAH" move and hollered "WOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Maybe it was you - if you saw my "not disappointed" moves Sorry I couldn't stay to say hi properly. I was supposed to be in Timing & Scoring doing tear sheets (?) for the Enduro and I had to skee-daddle.

DAYUM I LOVE ROY'S CAR! Roy is niice too

WHen I saw him today I was all jumping up and down and thumbs-upping him rather maniacally. I'm sure he thinks (has figured out) that I am insane. Perhaps you were in the car with him at the time?

Please don't be offended that I am not going to come up and punch you on the arm or something tomorrow (or more likely, get you to take me for a ride!). I am not going to be there. This racing/marriage balance is a delicate thing and I sometimes have to compromise. Such as missing day 2 at Barber tomorrow (SNIFF). I promised my husband I would go with him to a lunch thing with some friends tomorrow. Of course, he forgot to mention until tonight when I got home that this was a potluck and that I was cooking one of his favorite things to bring. Just finished that! Now he owes me! Mooohahhah!

Funny you should mention Evan and turns. Evan very kindly agreed to let me ride along when I accosted him on the grid as he lined up to go out on the afternoon instructor run. I hadn't even seen him until then. He was totally awesome to do that. And then he expertly demonstrated several laps' worth of turns very impressively and completely successfully! Until that one. And it only takes one!

Hey, $hit happens when you ride the ragged edge of disaster for fun. I just appreciate him taking me along, and I totally enjoyed it and learned A LOT.

Have fun & be safe tomorrow and give Roy's car a great big kiss from me! Haha!

absolutely .!! Every bit of what you said .I was in the car with Roy all day .Evan has gotten way too fast in that friggin honda.BTW....accosted is my word .He is a major pain in my butt because I used to be able to hold him off for a while. now I just go ahead and let him by.Thats too much like work.I know all about that DELICATE balance thing since I am in my 18th year of marriage. Here is one pearl of wisdom from the Rickster......if its at the track, the spouse can either go with.... or stay behind and get over it .Children are an intirely differant dynamic but my bride absolutely knows that track days is track days and track days is track days .If she has any hope of preempting that she must play the child has sporting /specal function card to gain consideration .

OK now that I have hit a somewhat sober moment and knowing my wife may frequent this board to check up on me ,all of the crap in the above paragraph was typed under derest and at gunpoint

Aw no guns necessary! My hubby is cool about my track weekends, too. We've been married a little over 2 years, and while I have yammered about "someday I'll have my Porsche" for the 10 years total we've been together, I don't think he thought it would actually happen. The whole car thang is new to both of us, and he doesn't really get it, but he loves how much I love it so he's all for it. This wasn't supposed to be a track weekend for me but I couldn't resist coming out to Barber knowing that PBOC war running (I'd signed up but had to cancel $$). I wanted to come out & play so I was happy to just get out there for today.

                    And I got my ride!

Now that all the crap I cooked is cool enough to pack & put in the fridge, I am going to bed.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO GIVE ROY'S CAR A BIG KISS FOR ME. Take a picture so I can be sure you remembered

I suspected as much. I knew you were looking for a ride, and I'm glad you found a "safe" one.

You guys were up late, BTW. I'm just getting up for breakfast, and you were here 2 hours ago.

I finally got it drivable, I'd been figting a terraibly loose condition up until that point. In fact is was so loose that I managed to spin it in that same corner first session. I also learned how well a spinning car can be aimed with you have to get the hell out of the way.

The car finally started coming to me that third session so I started bumping up the pace. Well I dedided I'd take T1 at the same speed that I was back in august...turn in, loose, counter, push, turn, loose...think I can gather it up on the asphalt runnoff...splash. I'm not sure how much of the car was on the ground as we went over the paved runoff but not enough to do anything with. I get back and David Leonard come up and says "so you're the d***h***that cut out session short..."

Man, you were cool as a cucumber. I was simultaneously awed and terrified for a moment, then just plain awed when we came back to earth and plowed to a stop without hitting anybody or anything. I assume your car is OK?

Sorry I was a rotten passenger & didn't adjust your harness belts back to "skinny" from "queen sized." And thanks again for taking me out! Hope you're back out there having a great driving day. Conditions should be much better today.

I'll be looking for film at 11 as they say (probably before you were born.......)

Car was fine. I'm not really a panicky person. That doesn't really do anything but make whatever it is worse. Today went well. The track was dry all day, if still cold. Rob grenaded the motor in the vette during the second sprint race and Ricky blew up the clutch (probably) that wasn't supposed to be able to be blown up...that's all that comes to mind though.
